Aliens is one of the few cases of a sequel that far surpassed the original. Sigourney Weaver returns as Ripley, who awakens on Earth only to discover that she has been hibernating in space so long that everyone she knows is dead. Then she is talked into traveling (along with a squad of Marines) to a planet under assault by the same aliens that nearly killed her. Once she gets there, she finds a lost little girl who triggers her maternal instincts--and she discovers that the company has once again double-crossed her, in hopes of capturing one of the aliens to study as a military weapon. Directed and written by James Cameron, this is one of the most intensely exciting (not to mention intensely frightening) action films ever, with a large ensemble cast that includes Bill Paxton, Lance Henriksen, Paul Reiser, and Michael Biehn. Weaver defined the action woman in this film and walked away with an Oscar nomination for her trouble

I wasn't sure what to put up for my last movie but I finally decided to use my favorite SciFi Flick of all time. I agree with the editors comment about this being one of the few cases of a sequel being better than the original.

The special affects are awesome. The action is non stop, always exciting and thrilling at the same time. Which constantly keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Then toss in all of the classic one liners. Bill Paxton's character had to have at least a dozen alone in this movie. Everytime I see this movie I die laughing at most of them.

The Aliens were incredible. They still scare the crap out of me. However just as incredible were all the high tech equipment used by the humans. I was at an Army trade show a few years back and one company had a gun that had a digital read out of the number of rounds left in the magazine and a grenade launcher. I imediately thought to myself, ALIENS! The ships and vehicles used in the movie were cool also.

There isn't much not to like about this movie. It recently was playing in the theaters and I didn't get a chance to see it. I'm still kicking myself for missing that.

Saw this with my Dad at the original Cine Capri. Awesome movie, awesome place to see it. Great choice.

Paul Reiser was great as a sleazeball corporate guy in this. Michael Biehn, etc as the Marines and Lance Henriksen as Bishop.

Yes, I have many Aliens action figures and I'm anticipating Aliens vs. Predator. :D

I've been reading review after review of the new DVDs--I'm a little burned out. Love the movie though.

Absolutely love this movie! I don't think I can get sick of it no matter how many times I watch it.

I just watched it. Wow, what a great movie. Nonstop action and suspense. Bill Paxton’s one liners were classic.

When I was doing my IMDB research on this movie I found this interesting fact about her:

Went to the same High School as Angelina Jolie, Michael Klesic, Nicolas Cage, Corben Bernsen, Lenny Kravitz, David Schwimmer, Jonathan Silverman, and Richard Dreyfuss.

This was also her first movie.

Just watched Alien and Aliens back-to-back for the first time in decades and as good as the original was, I liked the sequel much more. Great films to watch in one sitting. It's a shame none of the subsequent sequels even came close to what the first two achieved.

I watched (and loved) each of them when they were still new movies and I'd rate the first two about equal on an initial viewing. However, Aliens holds up much better to a re-watch. The last time I watched Alien I think I set a record for checking my watch. It's really slooooooooow.

Ditto! The extended version of Aliens (the 2nd movie) really adds a lot to the movie.
