I've just started accumulating some Mp3s, including getting some of my old vinyl into digital format [not a process for the initiated].

Skipping ahead, now Amazon is offering DRM free MP3s I can at last consider buying downloaded music [I WILL BUY DRM locked music downloads]. Of course downloads all come in MP3.

Good so far but ...

Ok just got new car [6 months old] and while it has a real nice 6 slot CD changer, the dork who bought it new didn't get the MP3 compatible player [arrggg].

So now I need to be able to burn regular CD's from MP3 files. I know if I upgrade Winamp it will do CD -> MP3, I need the reverse.

Any ideas ?

Nero or most other CD writing software will do it for you automatically. Windows Media Player will do it for you too. Just choose audio cd when burning.

Every single software burning package offers this function as do Itunes and Windows Media Player.

You've gotta figure out a way to hook your MP3 player to your car stereo. Converting MP3 back to wav so you can utilize that 6 cd changer is like is like going back to standard tv with rabbit ears.

All that work and you'll only have 120 songs.

I finally figured out what the problem was.

None of the burners will burn to a CD-RW even though the players are ok with it. Put a CD-R in and all is well
