Didn't see a thread on this show.....

Another Masterpiece Theatre series.

If you liked Downton Abbey, I would wager you would like this a lot as well.
The wife and I are on a English TV fix at the moment... Really enjoying it.
Halfway through S2.

Read as much history on Harry Selfridge as I could (trying to avoid spoilers)
Pretty fascinating character!

Anyone else seen it?

Any other English period pieces to recommend?
Between this show, and Downton... I'm enjoying TV more than I have in years!

My wife and I watched several seasons of it. You are right, its pretty entertaining.

I am a sucker for these historical period dramas.

Have you seen Bomb Girls on Netflix? It is a Canadian home front Ww2 drama. It's excellent too.

Call the Midwife is another on Netflix you might like.

Have about 5-6 episodes left of Bomb Girls... It started really strong, in kind of a rut the last few episodes (IMO) Going to finish it in the next week or so... Hoping for some stronger writing.
Overall it's been pretty entertaining, so thanks for the suggestion!

Did you catch the part early in the series, Where the guy was asking about her Fiance's car and asks "Nice ride, is it a 44?" At this point of the series, I don't think Pearl Harbor had been bombed yet... It was well before the Dieppe raid (August 1942)

Or was I misinterpreting a mechanical feature of said car? like... CK44 carburetor or???

Sorry, I didn't catch that and it has been months since I watched it.

Overall, it was pretty enlightening about the WWII "homefront" in Canada. And the characters were pretty awesome, very good acting all the way around, very entertaining.
