Wow! This exactly! One CEO is motivating his teammates and the other CEO is sitting in the corner with his thumb up his butt.

We've taken the most athletic quarterback in the NFL and made him a sitting duck in the pocket. It's mind boggling how KK has neutered him and made him so easy to be defended. Seattle, New England, and now the Rams have all kept him in the pocket and made him an easy target.
KM doesn’t WANT to run...he says it’s not needed for the team to win. He either thinks he’s a pocket passer or scared to run ... or both.

Not really a fair comparison, Mahomes in his 4th season behind a HOF NFL coach known for working with QBs. And Mahomes has earned the respect needed to get on your line like that, not to mention the ridiculously talented team that surrounds him gives him the confidence to know he can come back from any deficit. I’m sure Murray will mature he is very young but needs to be taught on an NFL level as well!

Mahomes has been doing it since game 1 of 2018. You have to be that guy to earn the respect. It doesn't come the other way around. You're either a leader or your not.

This was Week 10 his first season as a starter vs us. In other words, he had less time in the league here and a whole season less starting that Murray has now.

KM has a multitude of skills.

The OC is not putting him in the right situations to use those skills.

But in the areas that he can perform, he runs too hot and cold.

And gets frustrated easily.

Better coaching and KM needs to get his attitude back on the right trail.

Is the poor coaching holding him back right now? Yes

Can KM overcome this? To be determined.

Yup, Kliff has him running 2, maybe 3 routes. All on the same side. Doesn't even move him around so the defense has to adjust to switching sides.

Just lol at this route map. It's as if Nuk's head is made of metal and there's a giant magnet on the left sideline.

Wow this is crazy. And needs to be handed to Kliff. This is ridiculous and shows why it is so hard to get him the ball

Again in entirely different situations in the league. Not to mention being much more seasoned entering the league after multiple successful years in college learning. Give him time the Locker room always respects success and he needs to grow up a little he is very young!

I'm not asking him to perform a 10 minute speech that brings the team back from 30 points down to win the SB.

I just don't want him skulking off the field like a teenager you just asked to clean their room and them sitting their looking glum. Which he does all the time, as shown by every picture ever of him on the sidelines and as testified to by fans that go to the games and have seen him.

There's an in between. It take literally nothing to go to your WR's and say "Come on guys, we're better than this. Let's pick up up and show them what we got" etc etc

Every QB should have this, they have been the leader on every team they ever played for.

That is crazy but he does have Rodgers throwing to him and Aaron can sling it anywhere.

Didn't read through all posts but everyone has played a part in this rough patch.

1. The OL hasn't given him a lot of time in the pocket, especially yesterday to go through reads let alone take a 5 step drop.

2. Murray may still be feeling effects of shoulder scare 2 weeks ago whether it be physical or mental.

3. Kingsbury's terrible play calling and lack of adjustments is noticed by everyone. Nick Saban just made a profound comment in the HBO documentary with Bill Belichek. He said good players can't overcome bad coaching. If players are put in the wrong place or the wrong scheme or package is called then mistakes can be made. The only exception is Zane Gonzalez, he just doesn't belong in NFL.

4. Murray needs to keep his composure. Everyone can see and feel his negative energy pouting on the sideline.

To be fair Klif has never really overcome adversity either. And it shows.

Both need to get better.

And that’s the problem. Kliff has never shown that he’s capable of getting the most out of a quarterback or getting better as a coach.

I don't know why because I admit Kyler is playing poorly too but too many people on here make these hot takes and then just act like it never was said when something goes against it. Everyone last week was blasting Kyler for not playing well against NE. NE sucks we made them look great. For weeks now we've been told how much better Justin Herbert is than Kyler despite being a rookie etc.

So Herbert yesterday loses 45-0 to NE, he goes 26-53 209 yards no TD's 2 picks, less than 4 yards per attempt, and it wasn't they couldn't run the ball they had 2 backs combined average 4.7 YPA. He got sacked 3 times and per his own admission the NE defense had him so confused he often rushed throws when he had time and other times failed to recognize the pass rush and then couldn't step into the throw. He's had a great rookie year, he looks terrific, but even he was terrible against NE and he admitted they have good players and are so well coached they confused me the whole game.

Kyler has played more NFL games but he's not the first young NFL QB to get confused by a good coach, and with the Rams again they had allowed 2 TD's all season in the second half, they have the best DL in the NFL in Donald, and one of the better DB's in Ramsey. They are not exactly mediocre.

He has to play better

I thought this thread was about Kyler...?
Because of this post here..

What worked for Kliff getting the job was Mahomes....

Whats working against him now is that well if he couldnt get Mahomes over the hump..

I'm not out on Kliff, but there needs to be a QB coach brought in imo. Kliff is a creator, but I'm not sure he's the voice a QB needs. Let someone else be the middleman.

I blame Kyler for the loss to the Lions. I blame Kyler for the 4th Qrt against the Rams.

I blame the coaching in the 1st half.

This thread is proof that people didnt pay attention to the opponent we were playing. The Rams are amazing in the 2nd halves of games. The 3rd Qrt plan was what should have taken play in the 1st half. The problem is they got the blown coverage TD and didnt attack horizontally. I know we all hate when they do that, but thats what you should do vs. the Rams.

Where we screwed up was not throwing quick short passes and playing with tempo. The Bucs with a more loaded roster and TOM BRADY were throwing quick short passes against this Rams defense. Thats how they got in the game. It was once they tried throwing deep that got them in trouble.

Murray is scary to throw downfield when Hopkins isn't a option, relying on Isabella or on Kirk who play a good game then disappear the next 5, i can't blame him to be scared

I feel this is fair. With how Kliff has structured his offensive staff, he is directly responsible for Kyler's development.

I feel like there needs to be a better buffer between the two. This way Kliff can focus a little less on tailoring his game plan to try to get Kyler in a rhythm and more on how to attack the opposing scheme. I think there are some communication issues with Kyler as well.

I don't really know what the plan was in the first half, seemed like we were constantly getting very little or nothing on first down.

We have passing game coordinator QB coach in Clements, and he has an assistant. I assume they're both tutoring Kyler. But in the games it seems to be almost entirely Kliff telling him what he's seeing or not seeing.

Something has to change

Exactly.

Now I'm not saying they should hire Riley to replace Kliff. However, (sorry for referring to another thread) but where I disagree with people here is that Lincoln coaching Kyler tough. He wasnt this brotherly figure with Kyler the way Kliff is. He made him sweat it out till the end to get the job.

I say that to say this. I think its great that Kliff and Kyler have a good relationship. However, we need a tough SOB QB coach to constantly hound Kyler on fundamentals, the ebbs and flows of the game, attention to detail (Within the game) etc etc.

That shouldnt all fall on Kliff as another poster mentioned.

As you said less time for Kliff to worry about Kyler the better.

Proves the point even more so. I'm tired of these "kyler is still learning" and "Kyler is inexperienced" excuses. It's lame.

The guy has been a full time NFL QB for 20 months. That's intensive, full time, 24/7 training and learning on top of all his years playing outside the NFL and he's played 28 NFL games.

Do I expect him to be year 10 Peyton Manning level? No. But I expect him to be much better than he is.

Me pointing out that you are stating rookies are having good years while claiming kyler is a problem when he was ROY proves your point? I mean, we have no idea how those rookies will do in year two right now.

Kliff doesnt have a clue on what he is doing at the NFL level.

Gameplanning for teams like he is playing in the Big 10.
Wow the difference between the two years is stunning.
