I've had it for a few months now. Actually bought a second reciever for my wife's car for an additional 6.99 or so a month. The no commercials on the music channels is worth it alone. The feature I like the most though is the real time update of scores on the display.

Just a question: Can you record stuff from Sirus onto a CD or audio tape directly, or is it purley just a radio.

You canm provided you have the right equipment. It is radio, ie it has station ID's and DJ's on alot of the music channels, but there are no commercials and it has a better playlist.

Yes you can record off it. I recorded Debbie Does Dallas last night.

Kinda wierd though without a picture.

If you are a baseball fan you have to go with XM Radio. Nothing like listening to the local radio guys in cities all over the US.

Baseball sucks. The only 2 sports that matter, NFL and NBA are both on Sirius.

The Afternoon blitz is awesome. definately my favorite on Sirius NFL Radio.

Those guys do the best interviews. Riggins is great. He and Schien(sp) work so well together.

Satellite Radio...

Personally, both XM and Sirius suck. The data bitrates that the services use are quite poor (read: 32kbps). I was really bummed, because I thought satellite radio was an exciting service. If you don't mind listeing to music that sounds WAY overcompressed, and you aren't a stickler for that kind of thing, fine.

It IS, however, good for talk shows, or any program that doesn't depend on good audio fidelity. XM has 4 pretty good sports stations that I listen to on my commute (in the Seattle area, which takes me almost 2 hours a day round trip).

If you are trying to make a decision between the two - I would go with XM just because the future prospects look better. XM has a better satellite infrastructure, and Sirius is having problems scaling their service without launching new satellites (that they don't have the money to pay for).

Wrong. If you have the right equipment, Sirius and XM's sound quality are both quite good. The right equipment means not using an fm modulator or a wireless fm modulator but a direct connect via the aux input or a direct connect tuner and a Sirius ready deck. The sound quality is about the same as MP3 quality. Not as good as a CD, but much better than FM. Sirius has NFL Radio which is, hands down, the best radio NFL broadcast there is. There is also ESPN, ESPN News, Sporting News Network and a variety of other sports shows that cover the NBA, NHL (when they actually play) and other sports. As far as scaling their service, the only thing more satellites would do is increase the coverage, which is already very good. Sirius gets reception in Canada, and will be avalible in Canada soon for retail purposes, and can already be picked up as far north as Fairbanks Alaska, as far south as the Yukitan Pennisula, and as far west as Hawaii. XM does not have that kind of range. XM also has a slowly failing satellite in the sky, Sirius does not. Sirius has more availible cash as well and is quickly overtaking XM in retail purchases. The only aspect XM has the advantage in is factory installed radios in new gm cars.

Outside of the morning show when Dan Reeves is on, that NFL channel rocks. I like it even better than the NFL Network TV Channel. In fact, I listen to the radio far more than I even watch television now. Great buy for anyone interested.
