...are the best team in baseball, as I predicted before the season started. Look what they're doing without Garret Anderson, Troy Glaus, Tim Salmon, Darin Erstad, and Brendan Donnelly. It took me and my family moving away from SoCal and giving up our season tickets for them to field a winning team. Yes, I was in the stands for Donnie Moore/Dave Henderson debacle and thankfully we moved away so I couldn't personally witness the 1995 disaster.

If only Colangelo and co. had sold the team to Moreno as was the case in 2001, all this payroll cutting would not have been necessary. Even the future looks bright for the Halos while dim for the DBacks. Moreno is building something in Orange County. 2nd to the Yankees in overall MLB attendance and the biggest thing in California (actually probably second behind the Lakers) sharing the same fanbase with another contending MLB team, a soon-to-be NBA Champ, WNBA, AFL, the beach, two major theme parks, and a great nightlife. The DBacks get under 30K a night with a Hall of Fame pitching matchup competing with the Mercury and the Rattlers. Look for them to land two major television contracts; one in Spanish, one in English. The Angels will be self-sufficient and prosperous and pretty much be the Yankees of the West within ten years. You heard it here first.

Don't worry, ever since the DBacks came to town, they've been my NL team and I follow them just as much as the Halos because of ease and my love of baseball. But I had to comment on the Angels because what they're doing is so unbelievable. Vlad is hands down the MVP right now.

I'm an Orange County native also. I will never forget 1986. I was at the U of A at the time and I was like a zombie for days after game 5. 1995 was bad too, but 2002 made up for everything. Whenever I'm feeling down I put in my 2002 World Series highlight DVD.

I'm a fan of the Diamondbacks too, but the team you grew up rooting for will always be special. I agree about Vlad. That guy has carried the Angels on his back this year.
