I found Robinson's agents email on his personal website (www.marcusrobinson.net). I figured what the hell, and sent him an email. I couldn't find one for Marcus, but I hope this helps him to make up his mind to come here.

Dear Mr. Sarnoff,

My name is Ken Shockley. I live in Mesa, Arizona and I am a huge Arizona Cardinals fan. I understand that your client, Marcus Robinson, was in Tempe this week for a physical and and visit with the Cardinals.

I do not pretend to know the "inner workings" of how free agents are evaluated and signed, but I would like to let you and Mr. Robinson know that he would be welcomed with a great deal of optimism if he were to sign here. On this matter, I know that I am not alone. Nothing would make us happier than to be able to cheer for "Number 88" in a Cardinals uniform!

I have no idea if the Cardinals made an offer or not during your visit here. If one was, I would hope that it was fair to both you and Mr. Robinson, and that it would be agreed to (in principal at least) as soon as possible.

I hope you understand how difficult it is to follow an organization with the dismal history of the Cardinals. This team needs players like Marcus to bring optimism and excitement to the small yet loyal fan-base here in the Valley of The Sun.

If this email helps sway you to recommend to Marcus that he sign here, I'll buy both of you dinner! It may improper, but what the hell!

Thank you for your time,
Ken Shockley

Dude! You are going to scare him away!! Hahaha! Just kidding. Hopefully he is healthy.

Oh, by the way, #88 is retired by the Cardinals. We all know that #89 is available!

True, but Marcus has worn #88 since his college days (at least)...I hope the fact that he can't wear #88 makes him sign with the Raiders...CRAP!

Just sent this to him:

Dear Mr. Sarnoff,

I am an Arizona Cardinals fan. I am a Marcus Robinson fan.

What I'm about to tell you I know isn't new to you, but we fans are excited. I just want you to know that here in the great southwest, the storm's a-brewin'. This team is on the rise like the great "Phoenix" of lore.

We will have a very exciting passing attack with O-Coord Sully at the helm. We have a mad-bomber in Jeff Blake. We have a very talented running back combo in a guy named Emmitt Smith and Marcel Shipp.

Jeff Blake summed the situation best when he said at his press conference when he signed here:

“I see the respect factor for players is here. It is a very young team and there is a lot of excitement that can develop here on this team. With the right mix, and the right attitude, and the right hard work and dedication anything can happen. Coming here, my main goal would be to make sure our offense is in the top five in the NFL, period....They need somebody to come in and help get this team to another level. All it takes is believing in yourself, believing in your teammates, teammates believing in each other..."

We also have a group of very young and raw wide receivers. Looking at their raw abilities, they look like a world class track squad with there speed and work ethic. What they need is a leader. And that leader's name is Marcus Robinson.

Sincerely,

Joel F

I just talked to Marcus's agent on his cell number - I swear!!!! Nice guy. I told him who I was and was very polite (other phones were ringing off the hook.. You know what he asked me immediately? Are you a fan of the Cardinals? I said HELL YES!! He laughed. I told him that I do wish Marcus can join us and he said I do too. Sounded upbeat about it.

Just received this back from him:

Thank you for your email. Marcus is very interested in coming to Arizona. He has had numerous teams interested in him thus far. Arizona was and remains his top choice. That is why he went there for his first visit. As a matter of fact, another team was scheduled first and he had me rearrange it so he could come to Arizona first. He passed his physical with the Cardinals and is healthy. Yesterday, he went to the Raiders and they told me his workout was phenomonal. Today he is working out with SF.
Next week he already has scheduled visits with Detroit and Baltimore. There are other teams waiting for visits after that. With that said is Marcus is hopeful that he can play in Arizona. He is in his best physical shape since 1999 and is on a mission to prove that he is a pro bowl player. He sees himself as a guy who could be the number one WR in Arizona. He also is an excellent character guy (truly one of the best people I have ever met), and looks forward to the chance to work with a young WRs.
Rod Graves and I have had preliminary discussions about making Marcus a Cardinal. I know Marcus would have preferred to have left Arizona with a deal but it did not happen and now he is honoring his other committments to teams this week. The Cardinals are very busy like every other team preparing for the draft. Hopefully, I will hear back from Rod or someone in the Cardinals organization today.
Marcus appreciates your support and interest.
Very Truly Yours,
Ken Sarnoff

raiders anf 49ers...marcus would be buried on the bench (less so with 49ers) and both teams are cap strapped..he said honoring commitments this week...did not say he would be honoring commitments next week...lets get it done before the draft -sounds like he checked out medically..

Maybe it's just me, but this is a slow pitch softball for Graves. If he doesn't hit it, something is seriously wrong with his swing.

Cardinal Ken & others,

GREAT JOB! I don't know if it helped but I'm sure it didn't hurt & the fact that you have gotten a response is more than anyone would've expected. I truly hope Mr. Graves can get a deal together before draft day....

I think we may be working on the wrong end - mass e-mail Graves to let him know how we feel. Anyone have his address and/or cell number.

I may drop off a bucket of Popeye's Cajun chicken for lunch to the cards brass and let them know if they sign Robinson today, that I'll get them another bucket.

I kind of like the "take the matter into your own hands" approach.
We should really just bypass Graves altogether and just have negotiations on ASFN (assfan?).

I wondering if Roddie McGraves isn't making this harder than it is...he's coming off like the super-smart guy in "The Princess Bride", you know, overanalyizing the whole poison test thing...

Sorry...I think I've crossed the line into "The Tango Zone" just like Krang suggested...oh well...
