I decided it was time to upgrade my old laptop. It was 4-5 years old, aged well still works fine but just not quite with the times. With my recent luckiness in vegas i decided to buy a new laptop. I budgeted myself at 600 and this is what i found.

Much better than what I thought I would get for the price.

Good value, LOVE LOVE LOVE Newegg.

I almost bought an ACER when I got my first laptop, but ended up doing a custom deal from HP. The other didn't have the stuff to handle what I was doing back then. Funny how times change.

When i worked at CC last year, i started to like the Acers, we never had issues with them either so hopefully...

A friend of mine just bought the 18.4" version of that laptop from Newegg and it's pretty sweet. I had an Acer laptop a few years back, and I was impressed with it. The build quality was solid and it had some nice components for the price. I just bought a new laptop myself and seriously considered Acer but ended up getting a good deal on a Sony Vaio FW468 which I absolutely love.

I'm sure you'll love that laptop, it looks really nice. Other then Sony, Acer is the only other maker I have seen that's putting HDMI out on their laptops. My Vaio has a Blu Ray with HDMI out and I love it. HDMI out should be a standard feature, it turns your laptop into an HTPC with one cable, pretty sweet!

Oh really, I didn't know that, I just get components from them and their customer service has been stellar for many years.

But then laptops always have been a very different animal

They are very good on their returns. I am very loyal to Newegg, they are top notch in every aspect I have ever had to deal with them. I love looking at my order history and seeing what I paid for a computer component like 6 years ago compared to now lol.

Newegg is great that way. I'm curious why the return policy is so different for laptops though, maybe they depreciate in value like cars, I don't know. I have spent so much money on Newegg I'm afraid to look at my order history. I used to build computers for people and I always got the components at Newegg. I received one bad component out of dozens of orders and they replaced it right away with no problem or hassle.
