1-Chance Warmack,OG Alabama: We all know about him and what an upgrade he'll be.

2-Sam Montgomery,OLB LSU: if he falls to 38, he should be the pick without a doubt. They say he's being downgraded because he said he didn't always go all out against weaker competition. I think that's the case with most players. Montgomery just admitted it. He'll be an absolute steal in round 2 and could fill a Lamar Woodley role for the Cards.

3-Jamie Collins, OLB S.Miss: we have our Woodley, now let's get our Harrison. Collins can get after the passer and the Cards need OLB's. Acho is the only legit starter. If you're going to run a 3-4 you need LB's.

4-Shamarko Thomas, SS Syracuse: one of my favorite players in the draft. Every time I saw Syracuse play, Thomas was lighting people up left and right. He needs to make more plays in the passing game though.

5-Mike Gillislee, RB Florida: my favorite RB in the draft. I still haven't quite figured out why this guy sin't rated higher. Maybe it's because he does everything well but nothing spectatcular. I think he's a starting RB in the NFL.

6-Sean Renfree, QB Duke: high end ceiling that is coming off an injury. He took lowly Duke to a bowl game. That should tell you alot about him. Reminds me of Jay Cutler, although Cutler has a bigger arm.

6-Vince Williams, ILB FSU: was a combine snub but he's a heat seking missile in the run game. Probably won't see the field in passing situations though.

Like Warmack but need to take a qb on round two. Can't go with another late round qb.

What's your draft like with a QB in the first three rounds? (Almost surely).
It would be either Tyler Wilson, Nassib, or Manuel in round 2, which is more likley because, despit reports of him falling, I don't see Montgomery being there. But, if Montgomery is there, I think he's too good to pass up.

I would be ok with Montgomery or Carradine in round 2.

I'm sorry, but that draft would make me hurl.

For one, taking Warmack there is too high. I know I am in the minority, but you arent fixing the oline with one pick and with how deep this draft is in olineman, waiting and taking one in the 2nd and 3rd would help overall more than taking just one olineman in the first. Plus, he is a guard, and like it or not, he is not an impact player. You need an impact player at #7.

I like Montgomery there, but thats a big IF to fall that far.

I liked what I saw from Gilesee at the senior bowl, but frankly dont know much about him. He was clearly a hard runner and had a nice burst agaisnt senior bowl talent though.

Much better SS than Thomas. He's fine but the Cards will have Adiran Wilson problems over again. Dude cant cover his own shadow. See Shawn Williams from Georgia

Renfree? Really? Id rather have Laundry Jones or Matt Scott. Im not sure Renfree will even get drafted.

WRs aren't impact players if they can't get the ball throw to them. RBs aren't impact players if there aren't any holes for them to run through. QBs aren't impact players if they can't step up into a pocket to ellude edge rushers and throw the ball. Linemen impact every offensive play regardless if it is run or pass. You could argue that a dominant OG would have more impact on our offense than any possible "impact" player in the draft.

The question is, should fixing our offense be the #1 priority? If it is, then you have three options, QB, OT, OG. QB isn't an option. OT is line position we have our best players st. OG is where we see the most improvement.

I am curious when we will see you mock draft despite it probably causing my vomiting if it comes to pass.

Mark Ingram, Trent Richardson, and Eddie Lacy disagree.

That mentality made a lot more sense when you were committing 40m to the 7th pick instead of 15m.

Very surprised to see this reaction on what looks like an absolutely stellar draft.

Warmack is the most dominant lineman on either side of the ball in this draft. At #7 he would be a steal. And he hasn't even seen his best football yet...just wait until he learns how to maximize the explosion in his hips, which are incredibly fluid for a player his size. Not an impact player at #7? Wow. Please review any of his tapes.

Montgomery has a big mouth and, imo, it will cause him to drop into the early to mid second round. He's also a bit of a tweener---but he is tenacious and consistently disruptive. Cbus was 100% accurate in projecting him to the strong side---that's where he belongs.

Collins is best on the weak side and is explosive and quick...he's even effective in coverage where he is a very good athlete in space...but it's his quick-twtich ability to close out plays and rip his way to the QB that makes him especially valuable. Plus, even though he player for an 0-12 teams this year, his love and passion for the game was paramount---even in lopsided games there was no quit in him.

SS Thomas can cover---he's got 4.38 speed and is plenty quick...it's his height that will cause him to drop possibly as far as the 4th round as Cbus suggests---and at that point he would be a steal. But this kid could cover the slot and he has the pop and strength to jam the slot and the TE, although the height factor plays into whether one-on-one TE matchups are concerned. And, what Thomas has to improve on especially in the NFL is wrapping up---he loves the big hit, like AW, but that can be an issue as we've seen.

Renfree will get drafted for sure---he comes from a very good passing system under David Cutcliffe---and has one of the smoothest deliveries in the QB class. The question with Renfree is his overall strength---he needs to hit the weightroom and needs to do what BA wants all his QBs to do: go to the QB passing range for 100 throws a day.

Gilleslee reminds me a little of Ray Rice---he doesn't wow you with breathtaking speed and he looks a little small, but he's slippery, has excellent vision, and like Rice (although not yet to the same degree) he's stronger than you think. Gilleslee in the 5th round would be icing on the cake.

Williams is a great choice in the 6th---he's a quicker version of Reggie Walker, who cleans up well versus the inside running game. Plus, like Walker, there are times when you can blitz him from different angles.

This is really the best Cardinals mock I have seen.

The only selection that worries me a little is Montgomery, but not from a talent standpoint, but from an attitude standpoint. The LSU coaches were not thrilled with his antics---he needs to shut up and play football and let his talent do the talking. That said, there is an edge to him and when used to his advantage, that's what makes him a top flight competitor.

I am starting to really like the idea of EJ Manuel in round 2 or 3.

Warmack
BA OLB or 2nd OLineman
EJ Manuel

EJ is rising up the boards---and I wouldn't be surprised if the 49ers used the #34 pick on him---he fits their system very well and they wouldn't have to modify it with him as the backup to Kaepernick.

No reason to take a QB in round 2 when he can get much much much better talent in next years draft. Beef up the OL with that pick or get a pass rusher.

I think they are too smart for that Mitch. They do have some needs in the secondary. And they could also use a solid backup for Aldon Smith.

That team is so insanely deep though that they have the complete luxury of BPA.

I hear what you are saying---but I get the sense that Jim Harbaugh is starting to understand and relish in the asset of having a 2nd string QB who could command a great deal in a trade.

Look at what he got for Alex Smith.

They need a good backup now---and a running QB it always one hit from having to be subbed in for.

EJ Manuel is the one QB who fits the mold (he wouldn't have to change the offense with Manuel behind Kaepernick---and that's the luxury!), so if JH wants him he knows he is going to have to use the #31 or #34 pick on him.

Plus, JH knows how to build QBs up---and the irony could well be that Manuel winds up being a better QB than Alex Smith. That would please JH to no end.

Don't count on it. The 49ers think they deserved to win the SB and know that if they can get some immediate upgrades on their team, they should be the favorites to win it all this year. Look for them to package picks for Revis, or if that fails, look for them to leap up in the draft like the Falcons did a few years ago and get a guy who can start right away (who's the best secondary player in this draft anyway?)

As the draft gets closer I couple of conclusions I am coming to are:

1. ARZ will not take OT Eric Fisher at #7. They have 3 OT's on the roster so why take another OT at #7? No OT's worth taking after Round 1.

2. If Dion Jordan is there at #7, ARZ should take him. Had a great Combine showing and is drawing comparisons to Aldon Smith. Shoulder injury should heal by start of the season.

3. I don't think ARZ will take an OG at #7.

With all that said, my post-combine mock:

Round 1 - QB Geno Smith - Showed mobility and skills to be a solid QB.

Round 2 - OLB Alex Okafor - Can get to the QB. Double digit sack threat.

Round 3 - OL Barrett Jones- Vesatile player who can play anywhere on the line.

Round 4 - S Tony Jefferson - Comes in and starts at SS Day 1.

Round 5 - ILB Bruce Taylor - Nice size and solid numbers at VA Tech.

Round 6 - DE Craig Roh - Valley product and ideal 3-4 DE.

Round 6 - RB Rex Burkhead - Runner / pass catcher. Did it all at NEB.

Not bad til you get to round 6. I don't think Klein has the chops. Dunno much about Ford. I'd be inclined to draft Boyce WR Boise and Thornton G Illinois instead (using NFLDraftScouts board as a ranking guide).

Yes honestly about round 6 i just try to gamble. But i do like Jamie collins pick. Player with super athletic abilities and Great production. Matt scott was already interviewed and i think he is much better then a lot of people think.
