Hall of Famer
I don't have time to type out my full mock, but I want to throw my hat into the ring.
1) Oakland - J. Russell/QB/LSU - I feel like they would have already traded one of their receivers if they were going to take C. Johnson.
2) Detroit (Tampa) - C Johnson/WR/ Georgia Tech - The best player in the draft won't be undrafted for long.
3) Cleveland - Adrian Peterson/RB/Oklahoma - Lewis only has a one year contract and the Browns need playmakers.
4) Tampa (Detroit) - Gaines Adams/DE/Clemson - I hate the Tigers, but love Adams' ability.
5) Arizona - Joe Thomas/LT/Wisconsin - They'll be tempted to trade down, but this is he safe pick.
6) Washington - Amobi Okoye/DE/Louisville - Young prodigy will becme a very rich man.
7) Minnesota - Laron Landry/S/LSU - Possibly the best defender in the draft, and he fills a position of need.
8) Atlanta - Jamaal Anderson/DE/Arkansas - He's a physical freak and they need to generate more heat on the QB.
9) Miami - Brady Quinn/QB/Notre DAme - The slide ends here and the Phins draft the heir to marion.
10) Houston - Levi Brown/LT/Penn St. - So what, he's not a zone blocking tackle. Still, we see coaches try to fit square pegs in round holes all of the time.
11) San Francisco - Tedd Ginn/WR/Ohio St. - They need more playmakers and they realize that if they don't take him then they may have to defend against him.
12) Buffalo - Marshawn Lynch/RB/California - Higher than expected, but they need someone to replace Mcgahee's production.
13) ST Louis - Alan Branch/DT/Michigan = Rumor has it he's slipping big time, well this is a bigtime need for the Lambs and they're going to reach.
14) Carolina - Greg Olsen/TE/Miami - He fills a position of need and adds a reliable possession receiver.
15) Pittsburgh - Leon Hall/CB/Michigan - He fills a need and will be BPA on their board at this point.
After that, I think they'll actually be a run on receivers. It' not a deep draft at that position and I could see 4 more receivers going in the first round. Yeah, it's counter intuitive, but I see a run. Also, Staley will go before 25 and I think Blaylock goes higher than expected.
My Cards Draft:
1) Joe Thomas/OT/Wisconsin - They're counting on him to soldify the line.
2) Zack Miller/TE/Arizona State - They have to come away from this draft with another TE.
3) Corey Hiliard/OT/Oklahoma St. - Maybe a bit high, but he has the potential to play either guard or tackle at the next level. I'm a big believer that second tier college tackles often make good guards in the NFL.
4) Fred Bennett/CB/SC/ - Speed and potential will override questionable mechanics.
5) Justin Durrant/LB/Hampton - Athletic Linbacker will be broght in to play the weakside.
6) Diet Pepsi Machine - Yeah, they don't have a sixth round pick.
7) Garett Wolfe/RB/Northern Illinois - Speedy little back will be brought in to bring additional quicks to the offense.
