I don't have time to type out my full mock, but I want to throw my hat into the ring.

1) Oakland - J. Russell/QB/LSU - I feel like they would have already traded one of their receivers if they were going to take C. Johnson.

2) Detroit (Tampa) - C Johnson/WR/ Georgia Tech - The best player in the draft won't be undrafted for long.

3) Cleveland - Adrian Peterson/RB/Oklahoma - Lewis only has a one year contract and the Browns need playmakers.

4) Tampa (Detroit) - Gaines Adams/DE/Clemson - I hate the Tigers, but love Adams' ability.

5) Arizona - Joe Thomas/LT/Wisconsin - They'll be tempted to trade down, but this is he safe pick.

6) Washington - Amobi Okoye/DE/Louisville - Young prodigy will becme a very rich man.

7) Minnesota - Laron Landry/S/LSU - Possibly the best defender in the draft, and he fills a position of need.

8) Atlanta - Jamaal Anderson/DE/Arkansas - He's a physical freak and they need to generate more heat on the QB.

9) Miami - Brady Quinn/QB/Notre DAme - The slide ends here and the Phins draft the heir to marion.

10) Houston - Levi Brown/LT/Penn St. - So what, he's not a zone blocking tackle. Still, we see coaches try to fit square pegs in round holes all of the time.

11) San Francisco - Tedd Ginn/WR/Ohio St. - They need more playmakers and they realize that if they don't take him then they may have to defend against him.

12) Buffalo - Marshawn Lynch/RB/California - Higher than expected, but they need someone to replace Mcgahee's production.

13) ST Louis - Alan Branch/DT/Michigan = Rumor has it he's slipping big time, well this is a bigtime need for the Lambs and they're going to reach.

14) Carolina - Greg Olsen/TE/Miami - He fills a position of need and adds a reliable possession receiver.

15) Pittsburgh - Leon Hall/CB/Michigan - He fills a need and will be BPA on their board at this point.

After that, I think they'll actually be a run on receivers. It' not a deep draft at that position and I could see 4 more receivers going in the first round. Yeah, it's counter intuitive, but I see a run. Also, Staley will go before 25 and I think Blaylock goes higher than expected.

My Cards Draft:
1) Joe Thomas/OT/Wisconsin - They're counting on him to soldify the line.
2) Zack Miller/TE/Arizona State - They have to come away from this draft with another TE.
3) Corey Hiliard/OT/Oklahoma St. - Maybe a bit high, but he has the potential to play either guard or tackle at the next level. I'm a big believer that second tier college tackles often make good guards in the NFL.
4) Fred Bennett/CB/SC/ - Speed and potential will override questionable mechanics.
5) Justin Durrant/LB/Hampton - Athletic Linbacker will be broght in to play the weakside.
6) Diet Pepsi Machine - Yeah, they don't have a sixth round pick.
7) Garett Wolfe/RB/Northern Illinois - Speedy little back will be brought in to bring additional quicks to the offense.

given the amount of times Wis has talked about a TE, the Miller pick wouldnt surprise me at all.

Zach isnt the classic "blocking" TE type, but is proficient and willing. His receiving skills would be a huge bonus.

Red excellent job! One of the best mock's I have seen yet. The only thing I noticed about it is that SF is very very high on Willis. If he is there it's pretty much a lock he's a Niner. Great job though:thumbup:

I fully expect the TB/DET trade to go down. Makes too much sense IMO.

I see CLE selecting Peterson or Brady Quinn.

I like your Corey Hilliard pick! I think we might could get him in the 4th though.

Yeah, I think it is a bit high too. But I think it would make sense to reach to take him. The kid has good power, doesn't have the mobility you hope for in an NFL tackle, but he would be a good guard in a power blocking scheme (Grimm-blocking).

I think that it's smart to draft a tackle every year. Why this team continually takes guards in the draft is beyond me.

Those weren't Guards, they were Tackles who played Guard. Ernest Dye (played LG 1994) Leonard Davis and Reggie Wells. :D

Duece Latui and Elton Brown were the first Guards the Cards had drafted since Yusef Scott in 1999.

Latui was the first G selected on the first day since Rich Braham in 1994.

Since moving to Arizona the Cards have drafted 12 Tackles, 3 of them in the first round and 9 Guards (1 higher than the 3rd) and 1 G/T (Joe Wolf).

I suppose I was referring to recent history. Elton Brown and your guard/center hybrids?

Of course what your pont reveals, is how rarely they actually draft olineman.

What are your thoughts about the crux of my argument, that the cards should focus on taaking tackles late as opposed to guards?

They need to focus on continuity. In looking at who played where on the offensive line one thing you notice is how often the lineup changed and how many times two or more guys were listed as playing RG or LT etc...

You also see how the Tackles the Cards drafted played a lot more than the Guards. Most of the guys listed as starters at the G position were either converted Tackles or free agents. Which would seem to support your argument on focusing on Tackles in the draft and converting them to guards as needed. Just like converting college DEs to OLBs in the pro 3-4 defense.

Look at Latui, he played some at Tackle at USC didn't he?

At least the Cards finally seem to have the extremely important Center position under control. Center has been a problem for the Cardinals for a long time.

Good job, Redrage…

My take: As there are scenarios that give us Peterson, Thomas or Brown, I’ve included all three… with my predictions highlighted:.

1. Adrian Peterson (RB) Joe Thomas (Tackle) Levi Brown (Tackle).

2. David Harris (LB) (or) Victor Abiamiri (DE)

3. Doug Free (Tackle) (or) Daymeion Hughes (CB)

4. Scott Chandler (TE) (or) Jay Moore (DE)

5. Matt Speath (TE) (or) Kareem Brown (DT)

7. Mike Jones (G) (or) Jon Abbate (LB)
