This is my personal opinion on my ideal scenarios for the Cardinals.

#13: Melvin Ingram - OLB - South Carolina
#80: Brandon Taylor - S - LSU
#112: Senio Kelemente - OG - Washington
#151: Ryan Broyles - WR - Oklahoma
#177: Ron Brooks - CB - LSU
#185: Tom Compton - OT - South Dakota
#221: Bryan Anger - P - California

OR

#13: David DeCastro - OG - Stanford
#80: Brandon Taylor - S - LSU
#112: AJ Jenkins - WR - Illinois
#151: Jake Bequette - OLB - Arkansas
#177: Ron Brooks - CB - LSU
#185: Tom Compton - OT - South Dakota
#221: Bryan Anger - P - California

Pretty similar in some aspects, but these are the scenarios I believe would be ideal. All players who fit what we do, fill needs, and who I think will be solid pros.

I'd be happy with either first rounder and ecstatic over the Broyles pick.
Don't know much about the other guys.

It is the only way I do things.

As far as the players, the LSU DBs are both solid athletes who, IMO, were a bit overshadowed by a really good defense. Kind of the opposite of the Alabama guys.

Senio Kelemente was an OT at Washington who projects to OG in the NFL. He is very athletic, and would fit great into our pulling run scheme.

AJ Jenkins is a top speed WR with inconsistent hands. Can play both outside and in the slot.

Tom Compton is a RT prospect out of South Dakota who is pretty solid and fits what the Cardinals do at OT (strong against bull rush and push outside pressure around the pocket).

Jake Bequette was a college DE who projects to OLB in the right schemes. Plays a similar style to Justin Smith and JJ Watt. Real physical player with a non stop motor.

Bryan Anger is a good P which we need.

I too am fine with Ingram or DeCastro---and I think the Cardinals would be too.

I watched a good deal of tape on Bequette, especially after he made quite a name for himself at the combine...and alas did not come away feeling all that confidence in what I saw---he looks reedy and is not very strong at the point of attack---plus, his pass rush is so-so. he definitely cannot play inside at 34 DE---that's out. He would get manhandled there.

Brandon Taylor I am iffy about, especially at #80---he's pretty solid in coverage but he missed a lot of tackles and he lacks the burst to chase down plays away from him.

I like AJ Jenkins too but I prefer Marvin McNutt (Iowa) because he has better hands---Marvin Jones (Cal) too. But Jenkins has good ability and this draft if it is one thing is very deep at WR.

Ron Brooks is the consummate ST ace, situational DB---and he is great at blitzing from the edge---I like the call there Chops.

Tom Compton is a great call---very solid---seems like he would fit in very well. Even though he went to a small school, he was in line to sign with a major program but he injured his knee senior year of high school, so there went the big scholie---but as they say the cream always rises.

Loved watching Anger punt in the post-season. He's got the big leg and he can angle it well, especially to his right.

Thanks Chops---keep up the great work!

He can actually punt it both ways. Traditional and Rugby style. Added the Rugby style to his tool belt just this past year for the purpose of being able to sit balls inside the 20 with better accuracy and ability.

That's a real plus because you know how the coaches were enamored with Ben Graham's rugby style for exactly that reason.

Would be well worth the pick. Watching other punters in our same division really highlights the importance in terms of field position. Between two relatively equal teams, special teams can really make the difference as we saw on many occasions last year.

Don't see where he (Anger) lasts into the 6th. It's such a field position league now. Someone will scoop him up early. I had us taking the GA. punter Drew Butler in the 7th.

He might make it to our first 6th rounder---that's when it might be good to pounce.

One caveat, however---not so sure the coaches would be willing to go with a rookie, unless he is lights out. Just saying.

I'd still rather have Powell from Florida State:

Shaun Powell, P, Florida State
Height: 6-4. Weight: 235.
Projected Round (2011): 7-FA.

4/21/12: Powell led the nation with 47 yards per punt in 2011. He entered the year sharing the Florida State record for punting average, but after his big senior season, the record is entirely his. In his career as a Seminole, Powell averaged 46 yards per punt. Walter Football

Also supposed to be a "proficient Rugby style punter". Although that might mean he could get lost going to the lockerroom at halftime. :D

I was thinking the same thing about your trade down, to get a 2nd rd pick we may need to give up a 6th rd pick.

I'm not the draft geek some of you are so I don't know all the players you listed. Rd3 is a WR? Rd6 is a ? Rd7 is a ?
