Charlotte, NC — After NASCAR’s month-long west-coast swing the drivers are back east for the foreseeable future so some of the sport’s biggest names in Charlotte today are participating in a Goodyear tire test. Byron and Briscoe are among the drivers trying out some rubber at the Charlotte Motor Speedway as the circuit comes to town on Memorial Day weekend .

“The fact that we have this test takes us through things that we would have done to go to homestead. hopefully, that will be an advantage for us, says William Byron.”

Guys are squeezing every ounce of information they can from these runs. According to Austin Hill, “You know you’re changing a lot of stuff—some of the changes take a while. It can take 30 to 45 minutes to change some stuff.” But before drivers try to tackle this 1.5-mile circuit, they’ll get shorter tracks like Martinsville and Bristol Motor Speedway within the next few weeks.

“I love this part of the schedule, it’s nice. great little group of tracks before the easter break. gives you a good idea of where your stuff at, says Blaney.” and after the extreme tire wear experienced last spring in the bullring both cup and Xfinity series drivers are eager to see what awaits in 2025 says Blaney “I was passing guys like every six laps – the same person – hoping they didn’t blow a tire out underneath me … I’m excited to get back – I love bristol. great event and we’ll see what the tire turns out to be.”

Less than a month now from spring race weekend at B-M-S up next a three-race weekend on tap in Homestead Miami.
