Nash Named Western Conference
Player of the Week

After leading the Suns to a perfect 3-0 week, Suns guard Steve Nash was named the NBA Western Conference Player of the Week for November 21-27.
This is his fourth career NBA Player of the Week honor and third as a Sun for Nash, who also won the weekly award on Feb. 14, 2005, Dec. 27, 2004 and Dec. 16, 2001 as a member of the Dallas Mavericks.
During the Suns’ season-best three-game win streak, Nash averaged a team-high 21.7 points, NBA-high 9.7 assists and shot .531 from the field (26-49 FG). He had 23 points and a team-high nine assists in a 90-82 win vs. Toronto on Nov. 22 and followed up with 15 points and 14 assists in a 100-88 victory at Houston on Nov. 23. Nash’s game-high 14 assists tied the Toyota Center record for opponent assists, also reached by Sacramento’s Mike Bibby (Jan. 28, 2005). He capped the week with a team-high 27 points, his most points scored since tallying a season-high 30 in the season opener vs. Dallas on Nov. 1, in a 92-81 triumph over New Jersey on Nov. 25.
Nash, who was named the NBA’s Most Valuable Player in 2004-05, is averaging 17.7 points and an NBA-best 10.8 assists in 12 games this season. He also leads the league with a .979 free-throw percentage (46-47).
The Suns (7-5) host the Indiana Pacers (8-4) at 7 p.m. Wednesday at America West Arena.
