We got a guy ranked in the top ten of the QB depth chart on most boards with our freaking 7th round pick! He has more of a chance of making a team than most other teams' 7th round picks and if he doesn't... it was the 7th round...give me a break. I think the Cardinals did so well with their first four picks that a lot of people expected a clear cut sweep in the late rounds of players with big names that slipped under the radar. We had a good draft. Heck, would you have been happier if we where the Cowboys this year reaching in the twighlight rounds to feel needs.

the ONLY pick I am not thrilled with is the DE.

But what do I know...

I like this pick and cannot believe he was there at #7. He will make this team and maybe more.

Before burying the Cowboys consider they got their QB in Henson ( like a draft choice) , Marcellus Wiley ( same ) went into draft day with 5 picks and came out with 8 picks.

Navarre. Doesn't make my toes tingle, but he will be competing with King and Parsons for a spot, so that is better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.

I think Navarre has the chance to be the supprise pick of our draft. So he cannot run. Neither could Dan Marino. He has the arm, size, experience with a big time team against the best competition and his team won. Never overlook a winner regarless of the Gurus.

Once the dude is picked, all that talk about who ranked him where and how high or low he was drafted (if, in fact, he was drafted) goes right out the window.

Everyone comes in on equal footing now, and it will be up to Navarre to prove on the field that he belongs here. As of right now, he's no different from Romby Bryant, Eric Edwards or for that matter Josh McCown or Preston Parsons (whom I believe is far from being a joke).

As Gil Brandt put it - all the draft does is (a) slot your initial paycheck and (b) give you the opportunity to compete for a roster or starting spot. After that, you're on your own.

I have never seen Preston play, but he does have a big jump on Navarre in that this is Parsons third season. Navarre is bound to be a little wide-eyed and over-whelmed.

I think we will see a pretty fierce battle between the two of them for the #3 spot, and to me, that is a good thing.

What will be interesting to see is if Shaun King can fight off the two younger guys. If all three turn out to be fairly equal, I'm guessing the more expensive King will find himself unemployed.

Go Cards!!!

Now that's drama. A fierce battle for the guy who will backup the guy who holds the clipboard.

Well sure, when you put it like that it seems silly. I prefer to think of it as a battle for who will remain employed and keep their NFL dreams alive. :)

I'm really starting to like the idea of Navarre and considering how Green has developed QB's in the past I see a recurring pattern......take a big, strong armed young QB in the draft (in this case well past when he should have been picked), sign him to a four year contract, let him learn and develop for the first two years and voila, if McCown ain't the real McCoy or if he gets too expensive, jettison him. Repeat every two years.

This year we might carry four QB's.

Wow!!! Parsons is no joke the kid can play ball. Last year I would have rather seen him be given a shot than McCown. I wonder where you get this Parson is a joke? Have you watched the kid play at all?

There seems to be a lot of Parson haters on this board. Parsons looked a hell of a lot better than McCown in preseason games...actually he looked the best out of anyone the last couple years... Still wish he would have gotten a chance to at least play one game. Should have given Blake the clipboard in week nine...

You have to remember that Parsons was playing with and against thrid stringers in the preseason. Its really tough to judge how good someone is in that situation, shoot I think Chris Greisen looked ok in some preseason games when he was playing with the thrid stringers.

I am all for giving Parsons a chance, he deserves a fair shot--so does Navarre. Since McCown has been anointed the starter it should be a wide open competition for his back up spot--not just handed to Shaun King. If he earns it in camp and preseason fine but don't just give it to him because he is the veteran..if Parsons or Navarre outplays him let his butt go find somewhere else to play.

At the very least Navarre will have a spot on the practice squad.

Yeah I know... I just have a gut feeling Parson's a "player" and the only way you're going to see that is in live games... He was supposed to get a couple games last year... I wish we could have seen him. Now we'll probably just cut him :( I feel bad for him, he had a chance to compete for the #1 spot by being able to start a game now he's probably the number 4 QB on the depth chart...
