Looks like the Lakers are involved for Carmello Anthony.. And all theyd have to give up is the always injured Bynum..

Yup this is about par for the NBA.. Keep giving gifts to the teams that they always want winning ..

It hasnt happened yet.. But just the mention of it on ESPN this morning is sickening..

You would think they would want more for Anthony.
This is probably a bluff/ploy to get better offers from NJ and NY.

They are going to lose Anthony this summer anyway, so their bargaining power is practically nil anyway. Anthony has said he wants to play in NY so trade competition is only from teams that would want to rent his services for the rest of the year.

I'd rather the Lakers give up Bynum for Carmelo, rather than Melo just signing with them next season...

Ultimately though, I would like to see Melo on the Nets, Knicks, or Clippers.

I think it would be awesome if the Lakers traded Bynum for Melo, then Melo bailed and signed with NY/NJ anyway this summer. Lakers lose both Bynum and Melo.

I think they said the Lakers would want Melo to sign for 3 years to do the trade. I could be wrong. I still think he ends up in NY.

The question is are the Lakers willing to Rent Melo at the cost of Bynum? I would say probably not unless they planned on dumping Bynum by the end of the season. Also, the last article I read is that Melo wasn't interested in any team "renting him" anyway. Where he goes he wants to sign an extension.

Maybe things have changed?

Why not just contract to 4 teams, Lakers, Celtics, Spurs, and Heat. Helps save me money on League Pass and the NBA will be pretty much the same in all aspects even if you contract to 4 teams.

Looks like trade talks with the Lakers were initiated by Denver. Just trying to drum up a little competition for NY.

This is a really interesting game of chicken. Melo is pushing people because he wants to get a deal signed now, rather than in the summer or under a new CBA when he likely will get significantly less money.

The Knicks believe they can sign Melo in the summer for less than his extension now (with a new CBA) and they will not have to give up assets in trade to get him. But they wouldn't mind tying him up now, because bad things can happen.

Denver is trying to get someone else involved so that NY has to offer something of value. They are facing losing Melo for something and know that if any kind of bidding war starts, the Knicks will cave.

The Lakers entered the fray at Denvers request but then the Nuggets asked for Gasol! Are you kidding me! Why would the Lakers do that? Obviously the Nuggets don't think Bynum is enough to get in return ( they will regret that thinking down the road).

This stuff is almost better than the games.

Good thing Dwyane Wade aint looking for any more players.
Homie never planned on leaving the beach, he went and found out what the other teams plans and offers were for him, Leboo, and Bosh.

One of the dopest hustles in the world I have ever witnessed. Go figure out what's going down and then offer the boys tax free money and NBA titles, then let Miami take the street cred. Wade was a mastermind in all this, I can say this knowing I will never root for Miami. I hope they find a way to lose it every year. But Wade should be nominated for pimp of the year. They will win a couple rings and I will curse to the sky..."Why?"
