Joey super hyper spazzy on a pretty questionable call. Man, that dude is the uberdouche. LOL. He literally gets off on making enormous (and crappy) calls. Who the hell dances out a blocking call like that? LOL.

Its sad to see what Joey has come to - back when he could see he was a good ref, though he always liked to showboat. I guess the league needs a mandatory retirement age for referees.

He is awful. He honestly thinks the fans are there to see him ref a game. When guys start acting like Frank Drebin when making a call then its probably time for the league to let them go.

Crawford and Ken Mauer are vindictively bad. Like you said, they seem to take joy in infuriating a player with an awful call. But none compare to the gross incompetence if Violet Palmer. I cant believe the league hasnt fired her. Its hard to fathom anyone in any profession being worse than she is.

Today, Lakers not named Kobe or Dwight shot 5-38. Wow. Just wow.

This team will take a while to gel, I've said it in the past. Without Nash (and Blake) especially. They will flirt with .500 through about 30-40 games..then get a decent run, and sit at the 3rd or 4th seed. No title this year, but next year, they will fill the holes needed.

Today was one of the ugliest Laker games I've ever seen, shooting 30% and turning it over like an Amsterdam hooker, yet were still in the game at the end. mind boggling.

DHoward goes 3-12 from the line and the Lakers lose by 2. Nuff said.

That Laker's team has some great players but it is not deep at all. One or two injuries will be devastating. Word is that DAntoni is counting on Steve Nash to return and make everything better.

Nash is injured. Howard is showing some major flaws. Gasol doesn't know what to do with himself right now. Kobe is trying to do it all himself but just doesnt have the juice he used to have (though he is still very good).

The player that seems to adjust best is MWP.

The Lakers just might struggle all year. Their best bet would be to trade Gasol for some younger more athletic depth. This is one of those cases where one good big for several smaller players might be the ticket.

yup... but 28 shots (and TEN turnovers) versus 10 shots and 2 turnovers isn't going to sit well with a notoriously finnicky Howard and it doesn't look like this is going to change any time soon.

I think they will be super dee dooper at the end of the year, but frankly they will have to be on the road for the WCF and unless D12 somehow learns to make free throws, he's an enormous crunch time liabiltiy that will cost the Lakers the series. Without bench depth, they don't have a lot of wiggle room. With bench depth, it shouldn't matter.

Of course, they might flip Pau for depth and that could be a net gain for them overall. Right now Pau isn't fitting, and is atrocious on defense. He likes to hold the ball and let things happen, but that doesn't work in dantoniland. He's either got to adjust and make faster decisions or he will be shopped.

Oh yeah, this has been a wild start. They show flashes of greatness, then abysmal play. But I'm not concerned, I think it's interesting to watch right now. I was simply surprised at how absolutely horrifically bad they played in general. One of the worst games I've seen from them in a long, long time, coming after the Dallas game which was one of the better ones.
