DeMar DeRozan during a game against the L.A. Clippers in Sacramento, Calif. on April 11, 2025
NBA star DeMar DeRozan was allegedly involved in a physical altercation at a California restaurant.
Police confirmed to TMZ that they responded to an incident involving the Sacramento Kings forward at Yume Sushi in Calabasas at around 10:30 p.m. local time on Friday, April 18.
An eyewitness told the outlet that the alleged altercation began after a man shoved a phone with a bright light in the six-time NBA All-Star’s face. The witness said that DeMar, 35, then knocked the phone out of the man’s hand.
A 27-second video of the alleged incident obtained by TMZ appears to show DeRozan pinning the other man to the floor. The man eventually gets to his feet and demands that his phone be returned to him.
