NBC Sports Chicago is facing a new programming reality — and marketing challenge — come Oct. 1. For the first time in the sports cable channel's history, it will no longer air live telecasts of Chicago Cubs games. Starting Friday, the sports cable channel is launching an aggressive marketing and social media campaign that neatly sidesteps the fact Cubs games will no longer air on the station and instead seeks to position NBC Sports Chicago as “Your Home for Chicago Sports” as the new advertising tagline goes.
