NCAA investigators visited the University of Miami campus Monday looking into claims that more than a dozen former or current football players received gifts and services from convicted Ponzi schemer Nevin Shapiro, his attorney said. Shapiro has told the NCAA he provided players with the use of a yacht and other favors, said his attorney, Maria Elena Perez.

Yep sure looks like potential armageddon for Miami given past history and the allegation that 2 coaches, now both at Alabama, were intentionally taking recruits to meet the booster who was paying them all. that immediately says you can't use the "rogue booster" defense.

This is essentially Luther Campbell part 2 remember he threatened to take down the program if they didn't play a black QB he liked over a white QB, said he had evidence of payouts that would ruin the program.

and the Miami fanatics are inventing new ways to attempt to make it go away.

12 current players have been implicated, all Shannon recruits most are 1st stringers.

I feel sorry for the new staff. Claim they had no idea and were kept in the dark by Shalala, when they were hired. Paul Dee, AD during these alleged years, Larry Coker HC FB 2001-2004, Randy Shannon HC FB 2005-2010 (the guy characterized as the clean up king), Frank Haith BB HC are all gone after the fact. New FB and BB coach are left holding the empty bag, along with Shawn Eichorst, the new AD after Kirby Holcutt flew the coop to Texas Tech after he found the skeletons in the closets.

The drama is king at Miami and some stuff never changes.

It probably will be institutional control issue. went on for 10 years, with people in charge now saying, "we had no idea".
