NCAA Women's Softball Tournament

Arizona and Arizona State both qualified for the tournament.

ASU won opening game against Southern Utah yesterday, and are leading BYU today.

UofA opens tonight in Tucson against Howard.

Arizona enters the tournament the #1 seed. I think they got that only because they are the defending champions. The UofA is good enough to get to the World Series but because Mowatt is their only pitcher, it's too much to ask for.

Amanda Williams really screwed herself this year. The # 1 pitcher in high school became ineligible before the season began because she did not take her academics seriously. From what I have heard she will be eligible next year but that does not help the team now.

If you guys have not seen Caitlin Lowe play, she is one of the fastest players Candrea has ever had. She broke the record for all-time stolen bases. Will most likely be on the 2008 Olympic team.

Cats beat Howard tonight 9-0 as Mowatt threw a no-hitter.

Cats win game two against Mississippi State 8-0. One more win away from hosting a Super Regional.

Congrats to the lady Wildcats as they make their 19th College World Series appearance. The defending champs are looking to capture their 8th championship but it will be a tough road with only Mowatt as their pitcher. The Cats open up with a very good Baylor team.

Cats win their first game on a walk-off homer by Fox. Next up will be a tough one against Abbott and Tennessee. The first game is a must to have a realistic shot at getting to the finals.

Cats beat DePaul 3-0 behind Mowatt. They must beat Washington twice to get to the championship series. That will be a tough task.

Cats beat Washington twice today to make it to the championship series against University of Tenn. Taryne Mowatt is doing an unbelievable job on the mound.

This Abbott girl is pretty good, but am I the only one thinking she is getting called strikes that are way outside to the left-handed batters? They look to be a good foot, foot and a half off the plate.

Abbott is the best pitcher in softball. Mowatt has finally run out of steam. She deserves a rest for the rest of the game.

What an unbelievable game. The UofA is still alive as they were able to score in the 10th inning against Abbott. Taryne Mowatt is pitching with a rubber arm. She has thrown almost 900 pitches in five days. Winner takes it all tomorrow.

Those Wildcats are tough. Mowatt is pitching all on guts. What a great team, they never quit.
