Nebraska (8-11) remained out in California after being swept by the UCLA Bruins. They traveled to Malibu for a two-game series against Pepperdine (4-15). The Huskers snapped their losing streak, toppling the Waves with a 9-6 victory.

Nebraska jumped out to a 5-0 lead before Pepperdine got on the board in the fourth. The Waves closed the gap to 5-2, but the Huskers responded in the sixth by scoring four runs.

Pepperdine did deliver four runs following Nebraska's surge but got shut down in the final two innings. The Waves held an opportunity to tie in the ninth, with two runners on with one out. But two straight strikeouts ended the game.

The Huskers capitalized with runners in scoring position, leaving only four runners on base while delivering 12 hits for nine RBIs. Nebraska also kept Pepperdine at bay, despite a surge by the Waves in the middle portion of the game. The Huskers held Pepperdine to seven hits for six RBIs.

Cayden Brumbaugh drove in two RBIs for Nebraska, serving up sacrificial flies to bring runs in. He finished 1-for-2 in the game. Riley Silva, Robby Bolin and Will Jesske each hit 2-for-3 with one RBI. Jesske also delivered a double on the day.

Carson Jasa (2-1) got the win at the mound for the Huskers, pitching through the first five innings. He fired seven strikeouts while coughing up two hits, two walks and two runs. Luke Broderick earned the save, his fourth of the season, after throwing two strikeouts and allowing a hit and a walk.

Nebraska concludes the two-game series with the Waves on Wednesday afternoon. The first pitch is set for 5:00 p.m. CT on ESPN+.
