The Nebraska men’s basketball team has been busy working on the transfer portal over the past week. In the span of four days, they added three new players to the roster. Head Coach Fred Hoiberg has been adamant about using the transfer portal to build his team's roster. The Huskers only have one freshman, Quentin Rhymes, who signed with the 2025 high school recruiting class.
With the departures of Juwan Gary and Brice Williams, Nebraska has been looking for incoming transfers who can make an immediate impact. According to 247Sports, the Huskers' three commits have the 2025 transfer portal class ranked No. 50 in the nation and No. 12 in the Big Ten. As transfer portal season continues, seeing if more moves are coming will be interesting. They still have several roster sports open, and the portal is only heating up.
Here’s a breakdown of what’s happened so far, with transfer portal season in full swing.
Pryce Sandfort was the first addition for the Huskers. He announced he was joining the program last Friday. He comes to Lincoln from Iowa, where he established himself as a sharpshooter. He averaged 8.8 points last season for the Hawkeyes, playing in 33 games. He also averaged 1.3 assists per contest and shot 40% from beyond the arc.

He started his career in Lincoln in the 2022-23 season before transferring out following his sophomore season.
