Nebraska (21-8, 2-1) returned home Friday to enter a three-game conference series against Minnesota (13-16, 2-3). The No. 21 Huskers started the series off strong, shutting out the Golden Gophers 8-0 in a six-inning win.

Jordyn Bahl (12-3) led the shutout, throwing a complete game and allowing just one hit and two walks. She also struck out seven batters in the process. Her performance in the circle opened the door for Nebraska to take off with the win.

Bahl only finished with one hit in the batter's box but extended her hitting streak to 13 games with a single in the third inning. Kacie Hoffmann led the Huskers in hits (2) and RBIs (3). All three of Hoffman's RBIs came in the third off her three-run home run.

Lauren Camenzind also earned multiple RBIs, finishing with two off two separate hits. Olivia DiNardo and Bella Bacon each drove in one RBI, both hitting singles late in the game.

This six-inning win brings Nebraska to 15 run-rule victories this season which puts it two shy of the school record the team set in 2015.

The Huskers face Minnesota for their second game on Saturday afternoon. The first pitch is set for 1:00 p.m. CT on Big Ten Plus and Nebraska Public Media.
