need help limewire...

Hey guys i'm having some serious trouble with limewire it will never connect always stays on the first red light and never goes higher, but ares will connect just fine. I am running my computer through a linksys router with cox high speed internet. So please if anyone has had this problem and can help me fix it please give me advice on what to do. Thanks

Use a different version of Limewire.
Use a different version of Java.
Make sure that you do not have any firewalls turned on.

My business interacts with P2P all the time and we have worked with Cox Communications directly. I know for a fact that Cox blocks known default ports for P2P programs and blocks ports where there is recognized P2P traffic.

My ethics won't allow me to tell you how to circumvent this, however if you read between the lines you know that I have told you what to do

I just got it working, I had to delete the limewire folder in application data than I reinstalled limewire and it works perfect now . Thanks for the advice
