My wife loves horror movies and we have seen every mainstream horror movie ever made.

Does anyone have a good recommendation for some horror movies that maybe werent so mainstream but really good? Foreign movies are fine as well.

I was a big fan of Asian horror movies, especially Korea their mobie scene all together is pretty good. Probably the best time period was between 1996 through 2003. Then they to went the way of American horror and became gore movies rather then horror.

There are a lot of good ones but the ones that come to mind are - "The Audition", it isnt scary but it is creepy. "The Eye" has some jump moments. "Tale of Two Sisters" might be my favorite Asian horror.

A few of the directors you should stick to are the Pang Brothers, Kiyoshi Kurasawa, and Kim Ji-Woon.

It is a slightly different style in terms of story telling, acting, directing, cinematography. So not everyone will like it. But I did, especially during the horrible American Horror time time frame of the height of the Saws, Hostels, gore flicks in general, and Asian horror remakes such as "The Ring".

A lot of the old Vincent Price Edgar Allen Poe movies are great, like House of Wax and Masque of the Red Death. Let the Right One In was quite good, though of course now they're doing an American remake. The Exorcist is just classic. Frostbitten was fun. Dead Snow was a great horror comedy in the same class as the Evil Dead/Army of Darkness movies. I've heard that Dead and Breakfast is just as fun as well.

I remember really liking American Werewolf in London. Anyone know if it is still any good?

Zombieland! Then Army of Darkness!

I have no taste for real horror, but I love these movies.
