I want to replace my wireless modem. The brand is netgear and its about 6 years old. I currently have my main computer hook to it via hardline and have a laptop that I would like to use wirelessly however it won't let the laptop connect. Whenever I try to connect I get a message that it is waiting for access. Ive had computer repair people out and they get it to connect but the next day it won't.

So my thinking is to get something new, especially since I will be moving my computer box away from the connection and will run both computers wirelessly. So my question is what to buy in today's market without spending a small fortune??

reading the reviews the Linksys appears to be the better unit, however the range seems to be limited. Also do I have to buy the adapters for all my devices?? My desktop is 5 years old while the laptop is 2 or 3 years old.

Budget is 100.00.

You do not need a specific adapter to use these. They are compatible with the existing B and G wireless. If you want to use the new N wireless you will need an N adapter.

If you get a device that has a specific "speed boost" or extended range technology you will need a matching adapter to take advantage of those specific features.
