My lady works in your field so I watch my language, just paying devils advocate. I dont care how people talk. Free country, free speech, have at it. Call me cracker or ****** all day. I dont really care.

You added to your post after I already commented.

I am all for free speech. But, I am also a big fan of people being a little nicer to one another. Just my nature.

but we are talking a situation where the other person is being insulted so what is a proper word to insult with?

Should we change it to "my colleague, I must ask you to examine the lack of thought you placed into the motion you just conveyed as I dont think it resulted in an overall scope of who you are"?

I prefer not to use insults.

but if your with friends and your friend trips over a crayon, whats wrong with calling him stupid?

I think this whole thing goes too far and convolutes simple things.

Stupid is different than ********. One is a medical/educational diagnosis and the other is just an insult.

Great argument there.

I can see, once again, there is no getting you to see an opposing side.

I see the side that we should censor everything and all be nice all the time to everyone I just totally disagree ; )

I would argue that ******** means stupid now because the people who you are stating are ******** are now known as mentally disabled not ********.

And I used to have to put bread into something called a retarder.

Being stupid is a medical condition Jersey, I find it insulting that you say stupid is just an insult.

Notice how often you use the word "I" in all of your posts. It seems Jersey is merely recommending empathy. That's always a good way build understanding.

So by that logic it should be okay to call someone a ****** because today black people are called african americans.

I find it pretty ironic that you're encouraging people to use the word ********.

I was being sarcastic about encouraging the word ********. I thought that would be obvious after also claiming the word Jersey was offensive.

I would have thought it was obvious that you're being offensive to some people in this thread, and would have dropped it instead of continuing down the rabbit hole.

I have to confess that I did not know the word "******" was considered a derogatory word. It sounds kind of endearing... like granny.

Well, if you don't mind people thinking you are an ****** then you have no need to care. Publically Carlin didn't seem to care what folks thought of him, but that was the image he created and sold. I think it's fair to assume he related to people in real-life situations less agressively than what he portrayed onstage. That said, I love Carlin. He's my favorite comedian.

That may be, but when someone says to you "hey, i find that offensive," is the polite thing to do:

A) say sorry and refrain from doing that in their presence
or
B) argue with them about political correctness going too far?

Personally, if it's someone I respect I'd chose "A." But you go on with your anti-PC routine. It's so charming.

Very important to be charming with complete strangers, I understand.
