I did not get it, I also was under duress but it would ask me to "name the game", I answered "Commando", it would give me a "wrong" and tell me that the hero's name in the game Commando was actually "whatever his name was"... It never said what was the Hero's name in this game, so needless to say, I failed miserably... Too advanced for me apparently.
I never played Double Dragon on NES, but I used to play it at the arcade. My friend and I could team up and beat the game on one quarter each.

Wow. I am impressed. I missed one toward the end and spent too many points getting hints. It was the construction one.
I got Gumshoe after searching the deep recesses of my mind.
I thought it was 1941....and 1942 was the sequel.
I thought the idea of the game was that it picks up right after Pearl Harbor. I can't remember that much.....I drink a lot.Maybe you are right. 1943 might have been an arcade only release.
