The Brooklyn Nets are still in the beginning stages of their offseason as they look to recuperate from the 2024-25 season before turning their sights to the rest of the summer. When it comes to the 2025 NBA Draft, Brooklyn has a lot invested in the event as they have four first-round picks and on Monday, the NBA revealed what the Nets' non-Lottery picks will be.
Heading into the Draft, the Nets still have to wait for the actual NBA Lottery on May 12 to know that their highest first-round pick will be. However, Brooklyn has three other picks that will convey for this Draft and once the league sorted through the tiebreakers, they determined that the Nets will have the 19th, 26, and 27th overall picks in the first round based on various situations.
The Nets are getting the 19th and 26th overall picks as a result of the Mikal Bridges trade to the New York Knicks last offseason as New York traded their own pick (26th) along with the Milwaukee Bucks' first-round pick (19th) to acquire Bridges. The 27th overall picks comes from the Houston Rockets through another trade this past offseason that allowed Brooklyn to get back their own first-round pick for this year.
At the moment, the Nets are sixth in the Lottery odds, meaning that they have a 9.0% chance of getting the first overall pick and the opportunity to draft Duke forward Cooper Flagg. Brooklyn also has a 37.2% chance of landing pick inside the top-4, but they also have a 29.7% chance of getting the seventh overall pick and a 20.6% chance of getting the eighth overall pick.
May 12 will be the day that the Nets and its fanbase will find out what pick they will have and that could determine whether Brooklyn pivots during this rebuild or if they will continue to work its way through the Draft in the hopes of landing a franchise-altering player like Flagg. If Flagg isn't in the cards for the Nets this year, they could have the chance of selecting AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, or Cameron Boozer, the son of former NBA player Carlos Boozer, next season.
NBA confirms that the Nets will have the 19th (via the Bucks), 26th (via the Knicks), and 27th (via the Rockets) in the upcoming 2025 Draft. However, the pick that is most important for Brooklyn is their own pick. The Nets finished the season 6th in the Lottery odds. https://t.co/CtjI9nIMDl
