Well its halftime, so let's get this party started.

Suns are sitting Nash after the game last night to rest his bones. So Price and Telfair getting lots of minutes. Both look decent, but no match for Willams. Lots of three point shooting by the Suns, not a lot of assists. But Telfair had a pretty sweet dish to Gortat for a dunk.

We are down at half, but pretty close. Just need to tighten up the D.

The number of empty seats is ridiculous. Probably not even enough to boo Mr. Kardashian.

Ronnie Price is lighting it up, but can't stay with Williams on the other end.

Deron Williams, making it look easy.

The Nets have fantastic shooters in Brooks, Williams, Okur, Humphries and Morrow. If not guarded they can light it up.

I haven't watched a minute of this game but with the bolded statement above I believe the Suns are probably losing right now. :)

Without Nash and Hill playing tonight, this game was like a glimpse of what we have to look forward to when those 2 finally move on. Losing to the frickin Nets (without Brook Lopez) at home.

Williams with 35 points, 14 assists against a defensive-minded PG Price, not Nash. Goes to show you that there's quite a few talented guards in this league that cannot be guarded one-on-one and you need good team defense to slow them down. The Suns illusion of a defensive improvement this season is coming undone (Nets scored 110 points on 50% shooting), although our best defensive player Hill did not play in this one.

Even without Nash and Hill this was a winnable game, and in fact the Suns' starters had outscored the Nets, but their depleted bench could not keep up.

Interesting stat: D-Will played 41 minutes in this game, but in that time the Nets were outscored by 3. The Suns, for the most part, negated his impact (Price was +3 in 32 minutes).

The announcers on FOXSportsAZ said Gentry was pleased with the progress of the defense but he did not like the offensive play.

Wow! The Suns FO and coaching needs a reality check. The Suns as of now are not even close to being an average team especially on defense. I don't know how much longer they can stay in denial.

The problem is a lack of talent.

Maybe Deron Williams was auditioning for a job with the Suns next season. :p

Nash could be a good backup for him. :p

Losing to the Cavs and Nets should be a reality check for everyone but Sarvar. Anyway a loss is always good. We don't want to get overconfident and start aiming for higher goals.

Ok we are 4-7

Our wins are
@ New Orleans minus Eric Gordon
vs Milwaukee without Bogut, Milwaukee on road b2b
vs Golden State without David Lee
vs Portland on road b2b

Upcomming January schedule?

@San Antonio - L

@Chicago - back to back road set L
@New York - 2nd of b2b L

@Boston - L

@Dallas - L
Toronto - 2nd of b2b L

@Portland - L
Memphis - 2nd of b2b L

Dallas - L

It not unlikely that we will not win another game in january putting us at 4-16 overall and on 12 game losing streak.

Our best bets are @Boston, vs Toronto and Memphis on 2nd of b2b. 7-13 best case for the ppl that want us to win games

The front office blue it with the Aaron Brooks trade. That later pick would have enabled us to snag Marshon Brooks who I recall we had interest in. Instead we got Aaron Brooks for half of a non-playoff season.

Later draft picks have no value as Suns fans have all learned. :rolleyes:

Ya, then you get stuck with rookies who need to be developed and maybe given playing time. :rolleyes:

Yes, who would want players like Rondo and Marshon Brooks anyway? :bang:

I'd love to have Marshon Brooks on my team. And I'd love to have Rondo on my team only so I could beat him repeatedly with a stick and then find some dumb team willing to give me a couple of first round picks for him. Man would I hate to have to cheer for that guy. IMO, we'd be an even worse team right now if we had him instead of Nash. The refs would foul him out in about 15 minutes if he were playing in a Suns uniform.

That is the greatest frustration with this team--the shortsighted discarding of draft picks for the sake of cash (used to sign marginal free agents).

On the other hand, sitting Nash and Hill makes me think that maybe we are tanking this season. Wins don't really seem to be an urgent consideration this year.

The interest the FO had in Shumpert and MMorris also gives me just a glimmer of hope about our scouts and their ability to judge talent.

Just have to hope we lose enough of these to convince Nash to ask out. Then, get a top 5 pick and find a player to rebuild around.

I am a long time fan of the Suns. If Nash and Hill play we may win enough games to get in the 8 spot or just out of the players. This is a short season. What better year to tank it. After seeing players like Irving and Rubio, wouldn't it be nice to have a player like that. Nash has been grade but if we can get a low number 1 and a young player-expiring contract it may be time. Then we just turn it over to Price and get a great pick
