Continuing to add to their roster in free agency, the Chicago Bears signed veteran wide receiver Olamide Zaccheaus to a one-year deal. With DJ Moore and Rome Odunze cemented as the team's top options at wide receiver, Zaccheaus brings veteran depth for new head coach Ben Johnson's offense he looks to build around quarterback Caleb Williams.

Last season as a rookie, Williams had a wide receiver trio of Moore, Odunze, and Keenan Allen, who's now a free agent who was open to a return to Chicago. The addition of Zaccheaus may mean the door is closed for an Allen return, but it also brings in a new weapon for Williams to use in the new offense his head coach is establishing around him.

For Zaccheaus, the veteran wide receiver who has played with the Atlanta Falcons and Washington Commanders, believes in his new quarterback. He also shared some advice for Williams to maximize his potential as a top-tier quarterback in the league.

“The biggest thing, I think, is just the mental aspect of it for any young quarterback, especially Caleb,” Zaccheaus said during his introductory press conference. “He has all the talent that you need to be a top-tier quarterback in the league. A lot of it’s just going to be the mental aspect of it and kind of just slowing the game down.”

The Bears will go as far as Williams takes them in Johnson's offense, and with his wide receivers seeing his talent, the opportunities are endless. Zaccheaus played with Jayden Daniels last year, who went on to win Rookie of the Year last season. Now, he comes to Chicago looking to be part of the next leap in Williams' career.
