Has anyone else thought that this team is gunna be sooo much different this up comming year?

On "O" we have a different player at each position other than the Line.

QB Blake (upgrade from turnovers alone IMO)
RB Smith/Shipp (big upgrade IMO)
FB Hodgins (very big upgrade IMO)
WR to be announced :) (This will probably be the only position that suffers)

The defence hasnt changed alot but there were ALOT of young guys playing that will/should improve with another season under their belts.

I think we need a CB #1-3, a DE(Holliday/Suggs), and a DT(draft suggs and move Holliday to DT?) and well be a very solid team...

I would LOVE to go get Marcus Robenson from the Bears, he can be such a good WR when healthy...

I agree 100%.

If the Cards can resign Sanders and pick up a vet WR like Robinson from the Bears then they will only need to draft one WR.

Let's hope that this week the Cards get Sanders and Holliday signed so they can focus on getting another WR. This may not happen until after June 1st.

I think the Cards will be a lot different on offense, but not defense (at least not the way we're set up now).

Just having all the injured linemen back on offense will be a big improvement.

And I think the addition of Blake changes the play calling - More vertical stuff off sprint-draw and ISO play action.

Blake can make those throws down the deep seam. (Jake couldn't). And when we run the ball, it will be Emmitt and Shipp running behind a legitimate lead FB for a change in Hodgins.

Defensively, the only two substantive changes MIGHT be (a) Wendell acclimating himself to the Cards' defensive system during the offseason - he COULD be improved and (b) Dexter Jackson replacing KLass deep. Darling could turn out to help the team, but we won't know what his role will be.

Oh yeah. We should get back to where we used to be on special teams.

I agree with the second part of this statement, about play-action passing, but I sincerely doubt we'll be very effective with the draws. Draw plays depend on the threat of a pass forcing LBs and Safties to sit back and make sure the ball isn't going deep, because the O-line sets up in a pass-block formation that makes it look like they're hucking it. I'm sure until the WRs we have prove something, the Safeties aren't even going to be on the field, they'll play five LBs w/in 8 yrds of the line.

I don't know why we'd run sprints with anyone besides Anderson on the field, neither Shipp nor Smith are particularly fast.
