Houston Reggie Bush, RB, USC
Bush is a true gamebreaker and the top player in the draft.

San Francisco D’Brickashaw Ferguson, OT, Virginia
The 9ers have other bigger needs, but you can’t pass up on a franchise LT.

New York Jets Matt Leinart, QB, USC
Leinart will probably be gone at this point in April, but the Jets are happy he is not. Goodbye, Chad.

New Orleans A.J. Hawk, LB, Ohio St.
The perfect fit of the players left on the board.

Green Bay Mario Williams, DE, North Carolina St.
The best player left on the board, and a potential All Pro end.

Arizona Vince Young, QB, Texas
Dennis Green will attempt to land the next Daunte Culpepper.

Buffalo Eric Winston, OT, Miami
Potential franchise LT will need to show his knee is completely healthy to go this high.

Tennessee Mathias Kiwanuka, DE, Boston College
With Williams gone, they go for the next best thing.

Detroit Marcus McNeill, OT, Auburn
The Lions take the mammoth OT to give some stability to the RT position.

Oakland Haloti Ngata, DT, Oregon
Washington and Sapp aren't getting any younger.

St. Louis Jimmy Williams, DB, Virginia Tech
Williams' versatility gives the Rams many options in the secondary.

Cleveland Laurence Maroney, RB, Minnesota
Reuben Droughns is solid, but lacks the extra gear to make plays. Maroney is a potential everydown back with big play ability.

Baltimore Brady Quinn, QB, Notre Dame
If he declares, he may go higher, but the Ravens would love to have a shot at him.

Philadelphia Martin Nance, WR, Miami(OH)
With TO out, the Eagles need wideout help again. Nance gives them some of the same type of talent.

Miami Jonathan Scott, OT, Texas
With no QB left, they get the tackle they've needed for years.

Minnesota Darnell Bing, S, USC
Tice likes USC players, and they could use an upgrade at strong safety.

Atlanta Michael Huff, DB, Texas
A standout at safety would be a nice upgrade, but Huff brings the versatility to possibly form one of the best young corner duos with D'Angelo Hall.

Kansas City Jesse Mahelona, DT, Tennessee
The need some beef on the interior DL. Mahelona brings penetration ability and the toughness to stop the run.

Dallas Jason Allen, DB, Tennessee
RT would be the best pick, but value does not lie there. Allen may drop depending on how his hip checks out.

Denver(Was) Claude Wroten, DT, LSU
Even after bringing in the entire Cleveland front four, the Broncos still need interior line help.

Tampa Bay Winston Justice, OT, USC
Monte Kiffin's son has coached Justice the past four years at USC, so he knows how much potential Justice has.

New England DeAngelo Williams, RB, Memphis
The biggest steal to this point. Williams would do wonders for the Patriot offense which has stalled at times with Corey Dillon's health.

Pittsburgh LenDale White, RB, USC
White has said he will not declare, but we'll wait until it's official. Probably a little early, but he's the ideal fit for Pitt's offense.

San Diego Chad Greenway, LB, Iowa
Can play any linebacker spot.

Carolina Marcedes Lewis, TE, UCLA
His size as a receiver is needed since Muhammad left last year.

Chicago Vernon Davis, TE, Maryland
Just missed out on the top TE in the draft. If Davis measures out at a legit 6'3, he may rise up a lot higher after workouts.

Jacksonville Tye Hill, CB, Clemson
Pretty much a no brainer. They need corner help, and Hill would be great opposite Rashean Mathis.

New York Giants Rodrique Wright, DT, Texas
Has the potential to go much higher, but hasn't put it together on a consistent basis.

Cincinnati Brodrick Bunkley, DT, Florida St.
The offense is one of the best in the league. Time to address the defense.

Denver Santonio Holmes, WR, Ohio St.
Rod Smith won't play forever, and Lelie does not have what it takes to be the go to receiver.

Seattle Tamba Hali, DE, Penn St.
Should go higher but Seattle would be very happy to add him to their defense.

Indianapolis Ernie Sims, LB, Florida St.
For a team built on speed, you can't find a better linebacker. Sims has a lot of Derrick Brooks in him and would be a great fit in Indy.

Inside The EaglesLink

1 Houston Matt Leinart QB USC Last year, as a junior, he was going to be picked as the # 1 pick. He has done nothing but get better this year. He is the top rated player. OT, WR, TE, DE
2 SF D'Brickashaw Ferguson OT Va Quite simply, the best OT in the draft. Could easily be the # 1 overall pick, he's that good. OT, RB, CB,DE
3 Green Bay Reggie Bush RB USC Versatile back with cat like agility, speed to burn and soft hands to catch the ball. RB, DT, DE, CB
4 New Orl Mario Williams DE NC St Could very well be the top DE in this draft. A monster of a player with decent size and pass rushing ability. DE, CB, TE,OL
5 Tenn Tamba Hali DE PSU One of the best defensive players in this year's draft. Pressures the QB and strong against the run. WR, DL, OL
6 Jets Jimmy Williams CB Va T Hard hitting player with shut down ability. Punishing hitter who makes players remember his number. One of the tops in the country. RB, QB, OT, OG
7 AZ A.J. Hawk OLB Ohio St Top linebacker in the draft. Has blazing speed with a knack for getting interceptions. Strong tackler that instantly upgrades a defense. CB, DL LB,TE,RB
8 Clev Mathias Kiwanuka DE BC At 6"7" and great rushing speed, his future looks bright. Still developing but should become a major force. OL, DL, RB,CB
9 Balt DeAngelo Williams RB Memphis Sometimes overshadowed by Reggie Bush's running. But he is the second best back in the nation. Elusive runner with nice size and decent speed. QB, CB, RB, LB, OL
10 Mia Vince Young QB Texas Nice size for a QB. Strong with an elusive running ability similiar to Mike Vick. QB, TE, DB, DL LB
11 Buff Chad Greenway LB Iowa At 6'4" and 240 lbs, he has the size to go along with speed and play making ability.
12 Det Laurence Maroney RB Minn
13 Oak Jonathan Scott OT Texas Along with his 6'7"and 320 frame, he has athletic ability and decent enough feet to play solid left tackle.
14 St Lou Claude Wroten DT LSU
15 Eagles Derek Hagan WR Az St WR, LB, TE, DT
16 Minn DeMeco Ryans OLB Ala
17 KC Marcedes Lewis TE UCLA Best TE in the draft. Nice size, speed and hands.

Not surprised Mario Williams is moving up draft boards, kid's a freak kind of athlete, closest thing to Julius Peppers I've seen on athletic talent. Someone said it yesterday and I still agree, if he's on the board, Green will seriously consider picking him he's just that good.

I can see DeAngelo Williams he's the kid I wanted last year had he come out, and he had a year of experience running behind a bad OL so he should be used to it.

Still think LenDale White is in the draft and goes higher than people think, Kiper said yesterday White could be the 2nd RB picked, he thinks he's ahead of Maroney, and good workouts could put him ahead of Williams too.

One thing with Vince Young, silly as it sounds even as a rookie he could help this team because you could use him in the redzone to give you the run/pass option.

I will be very happy if we grab this kid. I'd rather have Cutler or Young where we'll be picking, but if Williams falls to us at 9 or 12, where I think we will pick, then we better grab him and party up.

I say no to DeAngelo Williams with our first round pick. He might be terrific when it is all said and done but it is still too early to give up on Arrington.

Hell, even Shaun Alexander had a poor first year......as SI reported in the article on him in this weeks magazine.

Isn't he the same size as JJ? Both about 5'9", both about 215lbs.?????

He did average 4.9 YPC as a rookie, just only got 64 carries. His first year as a starter, 2nd season, he had 1300+.

I just don't think you pass up on a potential franchise RB unless you're sure you have one already on your roster. I think JJ can and will be a very good NFL RB, with a good OL he'll be able to put up numbers, but I don't think he'll ever be as good as DeAngelo Williams is, and frankly I think LenDale White is better too.

JJ is not as explosive as Williams, I think he can be very good but I think Williams is already better. And I think given JJ's salary isn't all that large, it wouldn't harm us at all to have 2 talented young RB's so if one gets hurt, we have a backup.

We need help at a lot of places, we have to take the best player, and if that player is a RB, you take him.

I agree with everyone else that Jimmy Williams would be a great pick too, but can anybody seriously argue that a FS or CB is a bigger need than an OL or RB given how bad our run game is and how our pass defense is?

Good point, if we get a RB or OL fix in FA, obviously you don't draft the same.

Russ,

For our round 1 pick, I'd consider any one of Young; Jimmy Williams; LenDale White and/or AJ Hawk.....all would fill a need. I'm just not sold on the merits of a DeAngelo Williams given that we'll likey end up at #7.

I'd take any of the 5 you mentioned, and throw in Mario Williams as well.

Just seems to me that given how bad our run game is, and how bad we have been with 2nd round RB's, that if we don't solve the problem in FA or by trade (michael turner), we need to strongly consider taking a RB in round 1 if the right guy is there.

AJ Hawk is who we need!

Lets put together a great yound LB core with Hawk, Hayes and Dansby. Hawk is a smart physical player with a nasty LB attitude.

Defenses win championships!

Russ,

Considering the DE's we have (Berry; Pace; Okeafor; and Smith), Mario Williams is a luxury pick we can't afford to make. He'll be a good one to be sure.

You keep bringing up Michael Turner. Is a "pimp" attempt or are there rumours that he can be had? I think they like him a lot and, from what I understand, Sproles has been avergae at best when filling in.

I agree I would love Turner, just wondering if there are rumours or something you just would like see happen?

No rumors I'm aware of, just doing the logic of he's never going to beat out LT, they drafted Sproles for a reason, and if I'm Turner I would want to play more than I am.

He's not really quick, but he led the NFL in rushing yards per carry in the preseason at 8.9 and he's 5.8 YPC for his career so far in 2 years as a backup. The primary difference between him and Arrington is he's 25 pounds heavier so he can break tackles, I think they'd make a nice combo play Turner on running downs, JJ on passing downs and for breathers.
