Yeesh what an amazing waste of talent I sure hope this works out for him. Turner announced today he won't attend SMU afterall but will turn pro either overseas or the D League. Said he's beenworking out in LA and realizes his goal is the NBA, not school, and going to SMU for 2 years is not the right move. Translation I don't want to have to attend classes for a whole year if I can't play.

He did at least admit that marijuana and alcohol played a large role in his issues at UA that led to him being booted, but said he's grown up and wants to be a role model.

What a disaster it's been from when I first saw this kid after his freshman year when things looked so promising, to the last couple of years of disastrous results.

hope it works out but I'm doubtful it will.

He actually only has to attend classes for one semester and can take skate classes. He should have went to Kentucky. Calapari could have set him up on the one and done plan.

No as a transfer at SMU he would have had to sit out an entire year which means attend an entire year of school without being able to play. Then to play the next season, he would still be in school.

Reports were he bailed on some of his finals or midterms at UA right before Miller's final suspension so he probably would have been ineligible when he showed up at SMU anyways. But he would have had a full year to get his grades up.

Hope the kid figures it out, has talent but listened to all the wrong advice the last few years. Nowhere near NBA ready, can't shoot, out of control and just goes for steals on D.
