Agreed, although I don't plan on getting my computer wet. :)

I've been looking to buy a laptop and it seems Toshiba keeps coming up as the best value for a modest budget. The one I'm looking at now is the Toshiba Satelite 17.3" L555D-S7005. This a model that is available from Walmart over the internet. It sell for $548.00. Thoughts anyone?

That's kind of corny. Would someone here pay extra $$$ for that feature?

I have basically the same model and I am really happy with it. the only thing I don't like are the quality of the speakers.

Really like my little Toshiba Portege, and liked the larger Toshiba laptop I had several years ago -- much better than the Dells I've had. Speakers are weak, but that's not something I really expect much from in a laptop. I thought about a Sony Vaiao before getting the Portege (weight and size were the main concerns, since this is for travel use) but the many reports of Sony maintenance issues (and poor experiences over the years with Sony service) persuaded me to go Toshiba.

Thanks for the tip. However, it would be my second computer as I have a desktop. I might go for it. What's really interesting is a similar model that sells in-store at Walmart has Doby sound but it costs about $699.00. I guess when it comes to computers one has to look at all the bells and whistles. Walmart makes it hard to compare similar models as they carry different in-store items than internet items.
