The 2025 NFL draft is fast approaching, and NFL teams are finalizing their draft boards for the big day next week. The New York Giants are no different, with scheduled private workouts and visits continuing this week.

On Tuesday, the Giants met with Syracuse quarterback Kyle McCord on a pre-draft visit, reports Art Stapleton of USA TODAY.

The Giants had Kyle McCord in the building on Tuesday and from what I understand the Syracuse QB ran the gamut with the organization. Jaxson Dart's workout was weeks ago.

This is all about scheduling and timing, and trying to make the most of the calendar. Is it the best…

McCord played three years at Ohio State before transferring to Syracuse in 2024. As a senior at Syracuse, McCord completed 391 passes for 4,779 yards and 34 touchdowns. He also threw 12 interceptions and was sacked 27 times in 13 games.

The year before at Ohio State, McCord completed 229 passes for 3,170 yards and 24 touchdowns. He threw six interceptions and was sacked 16 times that year.

The improvement from his junior to senior year is evident in his stats, and if you watch him on the field, McCord has what it takes to be successful at the next level. He's not a first-rounder, more likely a Day 3 pick as he will require some development, but he has the makings of an NFL quarterback. And the timing of his visit, this close to the draft, benefits McCord as his play is fresh in the minds of the coaches and staffers.

A New Jersey native, McCord certainly wouldn't mind landing with a New York team and remaining close to home.
