Newcastle United rival Aston Villa for dream signing of Manchester City star
Newcastle United are reportedly one of the clubs keen on a potential summer transfer window swoop for Manchester City star Jack Grealish.
The England international has fallen down the pecking order in Pep Guardiola’s side in recent times, and it seems he’s now facing an uncertain future.
Grealish’s former club Aston Villa supposedly ‘dream’ of bringing him back to the club, while Newcastle are also exploring this deal, according to Fichajes.
Grealish looked a hugely exciting talent during his first spell at Villa Park, but he’s never quite looked as convincing in a City shirt.
In fairness, the 29-year-old will simply point to his trophy haul since moving to the Etihad Stadium, as he’s helped himself to three Premier League titles and the Champions League in that time.

Jack Grealish transfer could be one to watch this summer
Still, City fans will arguably be a bit disappointed that they haven’t seen the same Grealish that we all saw when he was at Villa.
On his day, when Grealish plays with the freedom to express himself, he’s an absolute joy to watch and a unique talent.
However, Guardiola’s strict and rigid tactical system doesn’t tend to allow for as much creativity and freedom of expression on the pitch.
Grealish has done his job well for the most part, and contributed to City’s success, but there’s no doubt it would be nice to see him play in a more free role again at some point.
Newcastle could be a good move to offer him that, though perhaps he’ll also be tempted to go back to Villa to try to revive the career he had there in the past.
Both Newcastle and Villa will surely be seen as tempting options after their great progress in recent years, though the Fichajes report suggests Grealish’s wages could be an issue for those teams.
