It's simple... 4 & 2 the rest of the way and we will be guaranteed to be playing football in January. 3 & 3 and we'll need a ton of help!

That's nice...better chance at the WC than any other team and a 20 percent shot at the division.

Oh, and it is Thanksgiving.

What?!? It's 85+ outside and the Cards are .500. Are we sure the season has started?

5-1 and the playoffs are a virtual certainty
4-2 and the odds are pretty good

• Almost every December there's a team that seemingly comes out of nowhere to mount a late push to the playoffs, after being written off by the masses. Last year, it was the Eagles, who were 5-6 when December began, but won five games in the final month to climb over the faltering Giants and Cowboys and wrap up another NFC East title.

If I had to take my best guess as to who might fit the bill of mystery playoff team this season it would be Arizona, which is 5-5 and a game behind first-place Seattle (6-4) in the NFC West. The Cardinals' final six games includes winnable matchups with San Francisco, Atlanta and St. Louis at home. That should give them eight wins. If they can get one more victory in their three other games -- home against Cleveland, at Seattle, at New Orleans -- a 9-7 record should earn them the NFC's second wild-card berth (unless they win at Seattle and thus sweep the Seahawks, which could result in a division title for Arizona).

At the moment, the Cardinals trail the 6-4 Lions by a game in the chase for the final NFC wild-card slot. But if they catch the Lions, the Cardinals would win the tiebreaker by virtue of a 31-21 Week 10 win over Detroit.

I see 3 games remaining on the schedule that we should win..Atlanta, St Louis and SF at home...we can beat Cleveland but their offense is posting good numbers every week since about week 3. I didn't think the Cards would be able to beat Detroit and Cincy after that horrible performance in Tampa so who knows what will happen.

8-8 at a minimum now--anything else and I'll be seriously disappointed. Even if its 8-8 and just missing out on the playoffs, thats a pretty good year considering the injuries, the youth and the new coaching staff.

Dansby's deal needs to be done

First -- I have followed this team long enough that I am not considering SF this week a gimme or even close. The Cards win, but I think its going to be one of those "alot closer than it ought to have been" type games.

Cleveland is a good team, playing with that "team of destiny" attitude. The benefit is that the Cards get them at home. The Cleveland D is possibly the worst in the league and Wis will have an information advantage-- he knows them, but they dont know the Cards.

If we can avoid a Tampa fiasco and play like the last two weeks, I can easily see us winning out.

However, Mizzou this season has really scewed my perspective on things. I've been waiting all my life for them to be this good, by golly, my AZ Cardinals will too.

The Niners aren't winning this Division... so go Cards! I'd rather see them win it than Seattle, for sure.

Football Outsiders has us at 54%

http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/playoffodds.php

The first link calculates wins and losses based on points scored and points against. Football Outsiders calculates wins and losses based on its own DVOA calculation.

Key differences between the two calculations are that, according to DVOA, New Orleans, Seattle, and the Giants have much worse chance of making the playoffs, while Washington has a much better chance.
