I'm into the draft and for that very reason I hate the idea and I really dislike our current commissioner more and more with every passing change suggested

I love the draft, but I miss the old weekend format. It was more compelling and exciting to watch. I mean, what's even a halfway decent proposal for four days? Round one, Rounds 2-3, then Rounds 4-5, and 6-7?

Only the most hardcore of draftniks would tune in on day 4, and while I normally watch all of the draft, I don't think I can handle scheduling myself around 4 days of that. 3 is stretching it. At least on day 3, I can go to a sports bar with some buddies and pay passive attention, or keep it on in the background while I do stuff at home.

i liked the saturday sunday format, all in one day would be even better. In your idea Solar of rounds 6-7 on day 4, i cant imagine but 5% of football fans watching that. Even the 4-5 day I imagine itd be a MUCH lower percentage than day one and two.

Goodell screwed the draft up.It was fine in April and it was fine being done over 2 days.Goodell keeps screwing with it and the draft will be in June and teams will have 3 weeks to sign player before camp and then Goodell will want 4 preseason games and 18 regular season games and the Super Bowl will be the Sunday nite before NCAA Basketball championship.

I completely agree. I really miss the Saturday draft parties. It was an all day event that only enhanced the draft. There is a great deal of hubris in what Goodell is trying to change.

Exactly, if it was up to him he would probably hold one round each week. It used to be an event. My brother and I would go down to my brother in law's and BBQ and watch the whole day affair on what became memorable weekends to talk football. A Cardinal fan, Falcon fan and a Dolphin fan both giving each other hell or going, "Damn, my draft is crap compared to yours" :)

No problem here. More the better. Thanks Commish!

But it isn't more. It is the same, just now to be stretched out unnecessarily even farther.

It is like saying that adding a half hour of commercials to a show makes more content. Which is probably what this is all about. More commercials, more money, worse fan experience.

Again, exactly... but I tell you a way I would like to lengthen the draft, add a 8th round and do the whole draft in two days starting on Saturday

The NFL as a whole has done nothing but water down their product for the past ten years....I can foresee a time when I will just casually notice there is a game on as I buzz through the channels,...much as I now do for the NBA.

4 days of football talk is fine with me.

I like the draft in April and really liked the old 2 day format. All I really watch are the first 3 rounds.

Exactly, I too have lost interest in the NBA, it's only a matter of time before that panty-waist Goodell ruins the best sport on the planet.

The only thing that would interest me, would be that the seven rounds would go on as they do now. And on the fourth day, they do a team-by-team breakdown on the un-drafted guys that are signed, after the draft. We could see some video and get some intel on guys that most of us know nothing about.
