The Houston Texans have a knack for hitting on talents found in Round 3 under Nick Caserio. Pro Bowl receiver Nico Collins headlines the crew, but wide receiver Tank Dell, linebacker Christian Harris and defensive back Calen Bullock were all top 80 picks and fixtures of the lineup amid a run to back-to-back playoff appearances.

Now, another name could fit the mold should Caserio target a pass-catcher with one of Houston's two third-round picks.

According to KRPC2 Sports' Aaron Wilson, the Texans are hosting Washington State wide receiver Kyle Williams for a top-30 visit ahead of next month's NFL draft. The 6-foot target is considered one of the better Day 2 options and regarded by some as the biggest sleeper in this year's class.

A transfer from UNLV, Williams was a consistent force for both Cam Ward and John Mateer in Pullman. Last season, he posted a career-high 70 passes for 1,198 yards while breaking the program's single-season touchdown record with 14 scores.

Kyle Williams would be a great compliment to the WR room, adding explosiveness at Z/slot. Likely Day 2 pick

Great route runner, great YAC & vertical ability. Very productive in ‘24 with 1,198 yards, 14 TDs, 17.1 Y/R

Over his three college seasons, he totaled 248 catches for 3,608 yards and 29 touchdowns. Williams also impressed down in Mobile, Ala. at this year' Senior Bowl and was considered one of the top playmakers.

During last month's combine, Williams put together quality numbers, posting a 4.40 40-time with a 36.5-inch vertical and a 9-11 broad jump. The Texans met with Williams in Indianapolis for a formal meeting, too.

Houston needs a stable No. 2 target on the outside to compete with Collins since Dell is expected to miss most of the 2025 season with a lower-body injury. While the Texans added slot receiver Christian Kirk, he's limited to being an inside only player.

A majority of Williams' reps were lined up at the Z position in Pullman. That doesn't mean he can't shift inside on some plays, but the overall projection for him is to remain on the outside while stabilizing any offense as a No. 2 threat.

No WR in this class has a better release package/wins off the line more consistently than Kyle Williams pic.twitter.com/wxPYpyekFG

Targeting a player for a top-30 visit doesn't mean they're the favorites to land him, but with the Texans needing a No. 2 player and perhaps not a first-round target, Williams very much should be a contender to land in Houston with one of the other three top 100 picks.
