In less than a week, the New York Giants went from an empty quarterback room to a full one. They began with a third-stringer (Tommy DeVito) and quickly added two veteran free agents in Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston.

The team is optimistic, but the reality is they may not have gotten any better, and they still don't have a long-term solution at quarterback.

NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah believes the Giants are still at the bottom of the NFC East when it comes to quarterbacks, claiming they are still "fourth-best" in the division.

After signing Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, are the #NYGiants done at QB for 2025? Does this indicate they're passing on drafting one at 3rd overall?#NFL#NFLDraftpic.twitter.com/YovjhyES0f

“You’re the fourth-best quarterback in that division,” Jeremiah said on the Rich Eisen Show.

“Where does that go in him (Wilson) vs. what they had in Daniel Jones? Maybe it’s an upgrade ... I think they just went from vanilla to French vanilla. I don't know that you’re going to get that much more impact."

The Giants may realize this and may still intend to select a top quarterback in the 2025 NFL draft. They won't get a shot at Miami's Cam Ward, who is almost a cinch now to go No. 1 overall to either Tennessee or a team that may make a trade with them.

"If you love Shedeur Sanders and you have big grades on him, I don’t think this would stop you from doing that," continued Jeremiah. "It feels so necessary that they win this year, and that’s why they’ve covered themselves with a couple veteran quarterbacks. It leads me to believe more so they are going to take another player to help them win this year."

That would give the Giants four quarterbacks and perhaps a pleasant problem at the position. But as Jeremiah has stated, it may not make them a better team in the end. Another four- or five-win season isn't going to cut it.
