Good, although I like the leap, it is hard to officiate and someone will screw it up so bad that we will clamor for it to be gone eventually anyways.

I have no problem with blockers jumping over the center.

I think as Cardinals fans you are bias because it seems like Seattle leaps the center and blocks a FG on us twice every season. Because it happens to us so regularly, it would seem like a justifiable rule, but its really not.

I cant think of 1 good reason why it should be outlawed. Every team is on an even competitive playing field. Our players can jump over their center too. You wouldnt be complaining if we blocked a few FGs by doing that.

it only happened last season.

You are not allowed to line up over center due to injury concern, this is far more than that. it should be removed based on that.

I think it's the Players Association that is requesting the rule to ban the leap in the name of player safety. It's not hard to envision the "leaper" getting his foot caught, rotating and landing on his head, just as the play goes live, leading to him getting trampled....

And really, you can use the "even playing field" excuse for any play. If both teams can horse-collar tackle, that's competitive balance. Head slaps are fine if both teams can do it.

Horse collar tackles were outlawed directly because of injuries. Not potential injuries, or imagined injuries. Actual injures. T.O., Ryan Williams, Steve Smith sr. I could go on.

Can you name anyone whos been hurt by jumping over the center?

Not yet, but I think that is the NFLPA's point, as it becomes more common, you will see counter behavior that will raise the risks - either to the center or to the jumper.

So, no, you cant.

in the 97 years of professional association football you cant name 1 player of note whos been injured leaping over the center, but its imperative that we institute a rule that bans it because it could happen.

Very Trump muslim-ban esque.

No, there havent been any attacks. but there could be!

How about blocking punts?

I could name 100 punters who've been injured by blockers running into their plants leg. That should definitely be banned.

Or blocking FGs?

Not jumping over the center, but just Bethel coming off the edge? Hes ran into the kicker many times.

could end the guys career.

That should definitely be banned too?

How about tackling below the waist?

Often times the tacklers body slides down the ball carriers legs, and thats how we get Joe Theismann type horrific career ending injuries.

Stiff Arms?

WITHOUT QUESTION

Its practically a punch, and therefore assault. You could break a guys neck.

Wow. Never expected to see this much passion over a play that has maybe occurred 10 times in the history of the sport.

Bodha, jumping over the center on a FG breaks 3-4 different NFL rules. It's only been allowed to happen because it's an exciting play & because the refs are afraid to enforce the rules.

Honestly man, you sound like a Seattle fan whose afraid his teams illegal competitive advantage is being taken away.

Only has happened 10 times, has never resulted in injury..... and definitely deserving of an outright ban

This one was way too easy to bury.

Well, I remember 2001, very vividly.:(.

9/11 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, UAE and Lebanon. None of those countries are on the travel ban.
