Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter is on track to be one of the top draft picks in the 2025 NFL draft according to another updated mock draft from a notable draft expert, but Carter has been bumped down a spot in the pecking order.
NFL Network draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah has updated his mock draft following the NFL combine results, which led to Carter being bumped out of the top overall spot in the upcoming NFL draft. Jeremiah is currently projecting Carter to go to the Cleveland Browns with the second overall pick. In his pre-combine mock draft, Jeremiah had Carter going no. 1 overall to the Tennessee Titans.
Jeremiah thinks the Browns will have a big decision to make in drafting Carter or going with a quarterback in Colorado's Shedeur Sanders. Jeremiah thinks there is a better upside to drafting Carter to pair with Myles Garrett and search for a quarterback in the second round. If the Browns do go with a quarterback, Jeremiah believes the New York Giants would snatch Carter at no. 3.
Jeremiah's mock draft update falls in line with the recently updated mock draft shared by Mel Kiper of ESPN, as Kiper also knocked Carter down from no. 1 to no. 2 overall. Both draft experts believe the Titans will prefer to draft a quarterback, with Miami's Cam Ward being the player knocking Carter down to no. 2 for the Browns.
Jeremiah also has Penn State tight end Tyler Warren projected to land with the Indianapolis Colts at the no. 14 pick. That is also a few spots down on the mock draft from Jeremiah since his previous update. Jeremiah previously had Warren going to the New York Jets with the no. 7 pick.
