That 3 game stretch going into the bye sucks. The last two games against Seahawks and Niners also sucks.

Nice schedule. If we can start out 8 - 0 we have a decent chance of finishing above .500! Seriously, it's not a bad schedule but I'm not sure we can say the same about our team.

Just notice that all of our East Coast roadies have early start times.

For the 49ers, they have 2 1PM ET starts in their 5 east coast road games.

Seattle wasn't done any favors; they have 5 1PM ET kickoffs.

The Cards have won 10 games once in 36 yrs & they are going to do it again with an overhauled less than talented roster & a new HC? I'm guessing you have them drafting Austin & him being the differance maker? ;)

Why are these schedules so lopsided? It's gone on for decades. In 1985 the Cards played 5 of their first 7 on the road. The next year 4 of 5 on the road from October 12 to Nov 9th. Same thing is still going on. 2000 the Cards played 5 of their last 7 on the road. Last year went from Oct 29th to December 16th with only one home game.

And that is the situation for every NFL team. Seems to me with modern technology they could do a better job. But maybe not.

To give the League credit, I like how they're stacking the schedule with in-division games late in the year. Excellent way to keep divisions interesting late in the season.

For reference purposes, remember that in the 2008 season, the Cards had only 2 division games after November 16. In 2007, the Cards only had 2 division games in the month of December.

Has anyone asked Darren Urban yet whether the Cards plan on staying in New Orleans/Atlanta during the week of September 22?

It just makes so much sense to do it this way, makes you wonder why they haven't always. Besides the obvious interest as teams jockey for the playoffs, a divisional rivalry can still create interest even if neither team is still alive for postseason play.

Great idea. Stay in New Orleans for a week before the Tampa game. The Cards wouldn't win another game for a month. :p

The sked sucks, but part of it's due to having to schedule 6 games with the Niners, Seahawks and Rams.

The three killers are ((1) three of the first games on the road, (2) being in Philly on Dec. 1 and (3) the short period between games with the Niners and Seahawks in weeks 6 and 7.

From a team psyche standpoint, the best thing we can do is to avoid scopiing out the season and just treating each week as "the next game" against yet still another tough opponent. (i.e. they're all tough; either we prove we're tougher or we don't).

I can't complain about this schedule. When your team goes 5-11 the previous year every team looks tough.

The bad....3 of the first 4 on the road.
a brutal stretch from 10/12 to 11/10 with a bye squeezed in.
the last 2 games against what many believe are the 2 best teams in football.

The good....opening with the Rams.
the Thursday game at home, at least we don't have to travel on the short week.
A chance to ruin the 49er's or Seahawks season with late season upsets.

As we all know there will be some teams that are better than expected and there will be some teams that dissappoint. Sprinkle in injurie and the bounce of the ball and you just never know. I'm praying for a sophmore jinx by Wilson and Kaspernick.

My prediction...8-8 would be astounding, however, at best I see 7-9....more realistically 6-10. :(

After we draft Barkevious Mingo and Honey Badger, we'll have enough family homes in the greater Louisiana area to foster the entire organization!

I thought we got pretty lucky here from a playing in weather standpoint. We've seen much worse treatment from the league through the years. All told, this is one of our best schedules IMO. Switch out our divisional foes this year for NFC West opponents from 3 years ago and we'd be in great shape.

At Tampa on my birthday..... Hmmmmmmmm.

Other than that, what could we have hoped for? We were going to lose most of them anyways.

I agree with whomever said 2-6 on both sides of the bye. 4 or 5 wins. That's what I see.

Those three games, then the Texans after the bye could cause us to not be physically ready for one of our (IMO) two truly "winnable on paper" games of the year in Jacksonville.

We might be the underdog in 15 of our 16 games next season.
