The Los Angeles Rams' draft plans remain a mystery.

They have no obvious and glaring holes on the roster but have needs at certain positions that could be addressed early. L.A. could even draft a quarterback at some point in the draft to be the heir apparent to Matthew Stafford.

However, ESPN's Matt Miller was told that the Rams are focused on instant impact players rather than developmental prospects, and that idea could shape their selections in the 2025 NFL Draft.

"A rival scout I talked to didn't expect Los Angeles to be active on the trade front, predicting that the team would use each of its eight picks because 'they need young bodies,'" Miller wrote. "The Rams have shifted their philosophy to target more instant-impact players and fewer developmental prospects. The scout also added: 'They'll be patient and draft a ready-made player from a big conference.'

This could be a lot of different things, but the biggest takeaway is that the Rams both want to inject as much youth into their roster as they can while also maintaining their ability to contend in 2025. That's why the anonymous scout doesn't think the Rams will trade for veterans or move up in the draft. Instead, the scout thinks the Rams will stand pat but take players they know can contribute on Day 1.

Applied to the 2025 draft class, that means those in the NFL circles see the Rams as a team who is focused on tangible production and/or traits as well as experienced playmakers. Does this mean offensive line isn't any option in Round 1? Possibly. The Rams don't have any serious holes on the line anymore. Quarterback is most certainly off the table is this idea is to be believed, at least in the first few rounds. Receiver, meanwhile, could be back on the table with some options potentially available at No. 26.

The biggest question, though, will come at the team's actual areas of need, like tight end, cornerback and linebacker. If the Rams don't look like trade candidates, then top tight ends Tyler Warren and Colston Loveland will likely be gone by the time L.A. makes its first pick. The same goes for someone like Texas cornerback Jahdae Barron. Taking a linebacker at No. 26 would be rich, too, especially if Alabama's Jihaad Campbell is already gone.

The mystery continues to the Rams with less than a month before the first round.
