There's no rule against a receiver winning, but it has never happened. It would take something incredible for a receiver to take the NFL's top award. If it was a realistic possibility and Lamar Jackson didn't exist in 2019, New Orleans Saints receiver Michael Thomas would be a great pick as the first receiver to win NFL MVP.
