In terms of contracts and the salary cap, the Carolina Panthers can dump Cam Newton after this season. When it comes to the football aspect of that decision, the Panthers shouldn't be so eager to replace their quarterback. Next year will be the final year on Newton's deal, and it would cost Carolina only $2 million in dead cap space to get rid of him.
