The Kansas City Chiefs' popularity has kept them in pop culture conversations for better and worse throughout their successful run. The extra attention leads to more exposure nationally and possibly an annual holiday residence.

NBC Sports' Mike Florio, the editor-in-chief of Pro Football Talk, discussed the potential of the Chiefs playing annually on Christmas Day.

"The Chiefs won't permanently be competitive and relevant. They won't have Patrick Mahomes forever," wrote Florio. "They won't have Taylor Swift indefinitely. It's far better to have flexibility in the event that the Chiefs become not a great team at some point down the line."

Kansas City is 1-1 after playing the past two years on Christmas Day. They lost their first appearance at home in 2023 against the Las Vegas Raiders. They rebounded with a victory on the road against the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2024 in the first-ever game on Netflix.

The discussion surrounding the Chiefs on Christmas was based on a report from The Athletic last week. The belief is that Kansas City can be associated with the holiday, as the Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions routinely play on Thanksgiving.
