Not to get too P&R on anyone, but yes, all of us want to get paid. The moment Kyler (knock on wood) goes down with a hamstring strain and misses a quarter of the season, the instant Cardinals fans tune out and the advertising dollars go.
The moment week five is outright canceled because it's wintertime and one of the New York Jets contracted Covid in a hotzone, is the moment the league stops being able to play games and make money.
I'm laid off, and my industry is dead in the water probably longer than any others. I don't even have a tiny violin to play for owners who are worth billions, and players who are worth tens to hundreds of thousands at minimum not being able to get paid.
I feel bad for league employees, but only as much as I do myself, where I'm ****ed, but pretending we can go back to normal will probably just make it worse.
(Sorry for the passion here. Hot button issue. I'm luckier than a lot right now.)
